3 Beginning Dental Implants Seminar Presented by Dr. Wesley Mullins We believe that implant dentistry should be taught from a prosthetic approach and understand that being a single provider for implant dentistry can increase case acceptance for the patient. We also understand that predictability and consistency is of the utmost concern as mistakes are costly. This course is designed to break through the clutter, so dental implants are no longer confusing and daunting. Dr. Wesley S. Mullins will take you through the history of dental implant design and engineering. He will guide you through the treatment planning process of single and multiple unit posterior cases, the basics of implant surgery, and prosthetic selection. Incorporating lectures, handbooks, checklists and open discussion, you will be able to place an implant for your pre-selected patient* during the hands-on surgical part of the course, leaving you with the knowledge and understanding to implement proven implant dentistry into your practice. Course Objectives: Understand the principles behind the mechanical design of modern dental implants Learn fully CT guided surgery to reduce complications of malpositioned dental implants Understand patient selection guidelines Learn and utilize the most up-to-date non-invasive implant placement techniques Understand pharmacology and emergency procedures Learn about surgical and prosthetic treatment planning Basic surgical principles: suturing, incisions, flap design, etc. Anatomy Review * Hands-on Live Patient Surgeries After registering for the class, you will receive a copy of the doctor checklist which includes your patient selection criteria. Attendees are required to complete the checklist two weeks prior to the start of the Implant 101 course.

4 Team Component Presented by Megan Ridenour We know that your team is a vital component to you and the dentistry you provide to your patients. As such, we are excited to offer a team component, for two members of your staff, on Friday, August 21, 2015, to help them get a better understanding of implant dentistry. This component will be taught by an experienced dental assistant providing understanding of parts and pieces, implant organization, scheduling procedures, operatory set-up, and chair-side assisting. 5 About the Presenters & CE Credits DR. WESLEY MULLINS Dr. Wesley S. Mullins attained his bachelor s degree from West Virginia University, and then went on to earn his dental degree from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Dr. Mullins completed his general practice residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and recently obtained fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. His concentration includes: advanced restorative materials, state of the art dentistry, oral surgery, implant dentistry, and the management of medically compromised patients. MEGAN RIDENOUR After completing school for dental assistants in 2007, Megan Ridenour trained under veteran dentist Dr. Joe Rainey DDS in Clinton, Tennessee. After Dr. Rainey retired, she joined Dr. Wesley Mullins practice in Powell, Tennessee. As an implant coordinator she manages inventory for multiple implant systems and also assists Dr. Mullins chairside, with parts and pieces used during the implant treatment process. She is well equipped with the skills to present treatment from simple implant dentistry to the complex complete hybrids.
