3 Notes Section 1 - General Information Reliance offer a range of shower kits suitable for different applications, each shower kits contains a 5 mode shower handset which allows the user to choose between various flow patterns, in addition to this each handset includes a flow regulator set to 9lpm. There are rubber nipples on the handsets which prevent water droplets from suspending on the outlets and this helps to prevent scale from building up. The various kits include: Riser rail and handset with push button slide Riser rail and handset with lever action slide Rigid riser diverter and handset kit This installation and maintenance manual has been prepared to provide as much information as possible to aid the plumber in the initial installation and to provide details of available spare parts, for all types of shower kits listed above. 13 2

4 Section 2 - Specifications Maximum hot temperature: 85ºC Maximum working pressure: 6.0 bar Flow rate: 9lpm Standard: BS EN 1112 Take the adjustable riser and temporarily assemble it positioning the fixing brackets on the end of the riser Position the riser on the wall, ensuring the surface it will be mounted to is secure. Mark the positions on the upper and lower fixing bracket Remove the assembly and drill the marked positions Section 3 - General Installation Guidance This installation guide is provided to give instruction on the installation practices that should be observed to ensure the correct functioning of the Reliance shower kit. Failure to comply with these instructions will result in the warranty becoming null and void. In all cases before installing the shower kits it is imperative to ensure that the system conditions i.e. pressures, temperatures and flow rates are within the limits stated in the specifications section. Prior to installation please ensure that the pipework is flushed out and is free from any system debris, i.e. sealant, PTFE tape, flux, solder or any other material that could become trapped in the hose/handset. Failure to do this may result in very poor flow performance and/or damage to the shower head. Insert the rawl plugs provided into the voids Properly assemble the riser rail with the two fixing brackets on either end ensuring the handset holder and hose retaining ring are also positioned on the riser rail Using the screws provided secure the riser rail to the wall Place the circular covers on the end of the fixing bracket to conceal the screws Connect the hose to the handset and position the handset on the holder Finally connect the loose hose to the diverter valve 3 12

6 Exposed Temporarily assemble the riser by positioning the fixing brackets on the end of the riser rail. Position the assembly on the wall, ensuring the surface it will be mounted to is secure. Mark the positions on the upper and lower fixing bracket. Section 6 - Riser rail diverter & handset kit Supplied with both a rigid riser and fixed head along with a 5 mode handset, 9lpm flow regulator, and a 2m hose. All dimension in mm unless stated otherwise Remove the riser rail and drill the marked holes Insert the rawl plugs provided into the voids Properly assemble the riser rail with the two fixing brackets on either end ensuring the handset holder and hose retaining ring are also positioned on the rail Using the screws provided secure the riser rail to the wall Place the circular covers on the end of the fixing bracket to conceal the screws Connect the hose to the handset and position the handset on the holder Finally connect the loose hose to the shower control 98 Product Code SFIT Description Rigid riser, diverter and handset kit exposed with 2m hose 5 10
