1 Augustana & TCON&HS NurseScientist Dual-DegreeCurriculum ArticulatedBachelor of Arts/Bachelor of ScienceinNursingProgram (B.A./B.S.N.) Augustana College and the Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences offer a unique combined liberal arts and sciences nursing curriculum leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The pre-professional part of this curriculum is completed in four years at Augustana College and the professional part at TCON&HS in Rock Island, Illinois. This program is open to residents from all 50 states. I. Upon a student s completion of the first year (or second year) of the Nurse Scientist Dual Degree Curriculum and having met the following criteria, the Dean of Nursing & Health Sciences at TCON&HS shall offer him/her conditional acceptance into TCON&HS (pending successful completion of the remaining steps while enrolled at Augustana): application and interview with Pre-Nursing Advisor at Augustana (Dr. Wegman-Geedey) composite recommendation report to TCON&HS from the Pre-Nursing Advisor (Dr. Wegman-Geedey) achievement of at least a 3.0 GPA overall on a 4.0 scale attendance at a Nursing Career Session at TCON&HS II. After completing the second year of the liberal studies curriculum and prior to completion of the third year at Augustana, the student will be permitted to continue in the Program by successfully meeting the following criteria: maintenance of an appropriate grade point average (3.0 or higher) updated composite recommendation report to the TCON&HS Dean of Nursing & Health Sciences from the Pre- Nursing Advisor (Dr. Wegman-Geedey), including evaluation letters from at least two recent faculty members completion of all science and general education pre-requisite coursework for TCON&HS (C grade or better), including submission of a Nursing Senior Inquiry Clinical Preference Form during winter of the third year and completion of BIOL467a Nursing SI: Question and Design during spring term (1 cr) completion of an Illinois criminal background check (must be completed by April of third year at Augustana) completion of the TCON&HS application process (application fee to TCON&HS is waived), including a complete Health & Safety Record, a Clinical Performance Standard Form, and mini-interview (preferably at the fall Nursing Career Session at TCON&HS III. Upon successful completion of each of the above, the student will: a) enroll in NURS-A101 The Art & Science of Nursing Practice during summer session at TCON&HS following his/her third year at Augustana b) complete the clinical portion of his/her Nursing SI at a Trinity Regional Hospital System campus in the QCA during the six weeks of summer following NURS-A101 c) return to Augustana to complete his/her fourth year of coursework, including all necessary major, minor and general education requirements. The student will complete his/her SI project by enrolling in 2 credits of BIOL467b Nursing SI: Analysis and Reflection at Augustana during fall term of the 4 th year at Augustana. d) maintain an appropriate grade point average (3.0 or higher) to continue in the BA/BSN Dual Degree curriculum e) be granted the degree of Bachelor of Arts (biology major with a minor in anthropology, psychology, sociology or women and gender studies) from Augustana College during spring commencement at the end of this fourth year. IV. Upon successful completion of each of the above, the student will be admitted full-time to TCON&HS for an accelerated fifth year of professional didactic and clinical coursework, beginning in July after graduation from Augustana and culminating with the BSN conferred by TCON&HS the following summer, pending successful completion of all BSN degree requirements.

Other than WGST, no more than 6 credits can be taken with the same departmental course code. Each student must also complete all General Education courses during his/her four years at Augie (courses that complete LPs and suffixes are noted above).

4 Timeframe and requirements: Student can apply in April of either the first year or sophomore year. Application and interview must be completed with pre-nursing advisor at Augie. Student must maintain minimum overall 3.0 GPA throughout the program. Student must complete 90 credits before beginning at TCN&H as indicated on the front of this sheet. Student must complete the TCN&HS application process including an interview at TCN&HS during 3rd year.
