3 HOW AND WHERE TO ARRIVE? Please keep in mind that all the delegates have to arrive to the Meeting Point by 6 pm on Saturday, 22th October, at the EAST entrance to the Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki), Plac Defilad 1, Marszałkowska Street. NO PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PICKED UP FROM THEIR INITIAL PLACE OF ARRIVAL IN WARSAW (e.g. airports or train and bus stations) The organisers will wait for all the delegates from 5 PM on by the Meeting Point the abovementioned entrance to the Palace. We would like to stress that this hour (6 PM) is crucial for the schedule of the day, as after the arrival, all of participants will be seated in coaches and transported to the Teambuilding venue where we will spend our time till Monday, 24th October. 4 TRAVELLING BY PLANE If you decide to travel by plane, book your flight either to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) or Modlin Airport (WMI). Both of them have convenient connections to all major European cities. Warsaw Chopin Airport The Chopin Airport is the major airport, which is located directly in Warsaw. You will need around 30 minutes to get from the airport to the Palace of Culture and Science. Just take a bus number 175 heading to the city center or a Rapid Urban Railway train - SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska) number S2 to the Warsaw Downtown station (Warszawa Śródmieście) or number S3 to the Warsaw Central Railway Station (Warszawa Centralna). Both trains departure from the same place at Warsaw Chopin Airport. Another option is a taxi or UBER, which should cost around 5-8 EUR. 5 Modlin Mazovian Airport The Modlin Airport with around 20 European destinations is currently served by Ryanair exclusively. It is located outside of the city (36 km far away), but you can easily get to Warsaw by a bus called ModlinBus ( The ride takes between 45 min and 1h 10 min, depending on the traffic. To reach the city center (stop called Warszawa Centrum (Pałac Kultury)) it costs around 30 PLN (~ 8 EUR). In order to be sure that you will get a spot on the bus, please, purchase your ticket online, right after you booked your flight. If your flight is delayed, your ticket will be valid for the next bus, unless it is fully booked. Here you can find out more about this airport: TRAVELLING BY TRAIN Another convenient way to travel to Warsaw is train, which is relatively cheap and comfortable. Warsaw is connected by railways to many Polish and European cities, e.g. Gdańsk, Cracow, Poznań, Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Moscow, Lviv, Prague and Vienna. Among all of Warsaw train stations, the most convenient one to arrive at is Central Railway Station (Warszawa Centralna), which is exactly 10 minutes on foot from the Meeting Point. 6 TRAVELLING BY BUS There is a number of bus connections to Warsaw, both from Polish and other European cities. The buses arrive at various places all over Warsaw, including the Central Railway Station and the Palace of Culture and Science parking lot. Depending on the place of your arrival, you can check the way to the Meeting Point by the public transportation. For more information read the section on Travelling by Warsaw public transportation. Search for bus connections here: Short list of recommended bus carriers: Polski Bus: Luxexpress: Eurolines: TRAVELLING BY WARSAW PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Warsaw Public Transportation consists of 4 means of transportation: Metro, buses, trams and SKMs. Every bought and validated ticket allows to use all means of transportation. All the tickets has to be bought for first zone - 1 STREFA. You will not need to use the second zone 2 STREFA of the city. 7 Reduced fare cost applies only to Polish high school or University students. If you are a foreigner or a Polish student studying abroad you cannot receive a fare discount. For further information check: TRAVELLING BY CAR Warsaw offers many parking lots available for cars. The parking lot closest to the Hostel and the place of arrival is the Palace of Culture and Science parking lot, however it is very expensive. For 24h the parking charges 30 EUR. Parking outside Warsaw city center is usually free of charge, but requires travelling by public transportation to the Meeting Point, therefore we strongly encourage you to travel to Warsaw by other means of transportation. TRAVELLING TIPS Save yourself some trouble and download Warsaw area in Google Maps on your smartphone before your departure. With that feature moving around the city without Wi- Fi will be a piece of cake. Moreover, Warsaw public transport network is synchronised with Google Maps route finding system. Another useful app is JakDojadę (available in English). Apart from trip planning, it also contains full timetable for all public transport in Warsaw. 8 ACCOMMODATION For the first two Teambuilding days of the Forum all participants will be accommodated in a venue outside Warsaw (22nd-24th October), which is a Hotel Zamek Pułtusk, located in the XVcentury castle, just 60 km from the capital. As abovementioned, the participants will be transfered both to and from the Teambuilding venue by provided coaches. The transfer already counts as a part of the Forum. From 24th till 31st of October the accommodation venue in Patchwork Design Hostel, located in the Warsaw city center. Hostel address: Chmielna 5/7, Warszawa European Youth Parliament Poland 8

9 We will be providing you with accommodation between 22nd and 31st October. Thus you will have to pay for any extra nights that you wish to stay. You are obliged to book a room for your extra night on your own. We strongly recommend booking a bed at the Patchwork Design Hostel (EYP Poland is receiving discounts), which can be done here: DEPARTURES Departures of all participants are scheduled for 31st October in the morning. The Hostel checkout hour is 11 AM. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU TO WARSAW? As we are staying in the hostel, please bring your towels and hairdryers. In case you forget the towel, you can rent it at the reception of the hostel: it costs 5 PLN fee + 5 PLN deposit. Hair dryers, iron and ironing board are also for rent at the Reception, however bear in mind that we are 140 people staying in one hostel. The weather in Poland in the end of October can be quite crazy - as it is hard to predict with two months in advance, please check the forecast before packing and bring both outfits for over 20 an under 10 degrees Celsius. Although Poland is a EU Member State, we are not in the Eurozone. Therefore, we don t have EUR and even if restaurants and stores accept payments in EUR, the change is given back in PLN (Polish Złoty ). The best thing you should do before coming to Poland then, is to exchange your money. You can also of course do it once you arrive, you may however need money in cash for reaching the city centre of Warsaw.
