2 Biographical History: Michael G. Hitch, (b. 1959) was born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland near the land of his ancestors. He received his degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and The George Washington University. Over the course of his career, he has worked at many different types of telecommunication companies; currently, he is employed at NASA and serves as the Board Director for the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture. Scope and Content Note: Michael G. Hitch papers document the extensive processes conducted by Mr. Hitch while researching the genealogical pathways of his family history in Salisbury, Maryland. The materials date from with the bulk of the materials dating from the intensive correspondence campaign embarked upon with the Hitch Family Newsletter from, Research activities are documented via photocopied research materials including family history charts of descendants, probate records, and written histories of various Hitch families and extensive correspondence to Mr. Hitch from Hitch family members nationwide. Arrangement Statement: Michael G. Hitch papers have been arranged into three series, RESEARCH FILES, CORRESPONDENCE and PRINTED MATERIALS. Research Files include the extensive resources used while conducting genealogical research on his ancestors. Correspondence files contain the extensive letter writing and campaigns from Hitch family members across the United States to Mike Hitch; information requests are also included. Printed Materials consist of the Hitch Family Newsletter, newspaper clippings, and photographs.
