We believe that God is truly the author of the Bible because the Holy Spirit inspired the people who wrote it. FAITH WORDS The Bible is also called Sacred Scripture. There are readings from Scripture at Mass. The New Testament begins with a Gospel. The word Gospel means good news. The Bible is a collection of seventy-three books, divided into two parts. The Old Testament and the New Testament. Glory Be Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen. FAITH WORDS The Bible is the Word of God. The Holy Spirit guided people to write all that is contained in the Bible. One God in Three Divine Persons is called the Holy Trinity. The Three Divine Persons are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Liturgy of the Eucharist is the part of the Mass in which the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. The Sunday Eucharist CCC # The Sunday celebration of the Lord s Day and his Eucharist is at the heart of the Church s life. Sunday is the day on which the paschal mystery is celebrated in light of the apostolic tradition and is to be observed as the foremost holy day of obligation in the universal Church. The Commandments guide us in serving the one true God. FAITH WORDS The Ten Commandments are the laws God gave to Moses to help us live in peace with God and others. A covenant is an agreement between people or groups of people. God made the covenant, or sacred agreement, with the Hebrew people. Leader: That we may live the first three Commandments by showing our love for God. All: Help us, Lord, to follow your Commandments. Leader: That we may live the Fourth through Sixth Commandments by respecting the gift of life, All: Help us, Lord, to follow your Commandments.
