1 Edmonton Catholic Schools is now accepting applications for the position of Director, Financial Services (New position) Edmonton Catholic Schools is a large urban school district whose mission is to provide a Catholic education that inspires students to learn and that prepares them to live fully and to serve God in one another. The District is comprised of over 40,000 students and 3,500 employees in 89 schools and other sites. The primary focus of the job is to provide leadership in financial administration services throughout the district. The district budget is $466 million. The job is responsible for the delivery of financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury function, strategic planning, financial information technology, capital assets, and capital project funding through a team of management, professional and support staff. The incumbent will participate on the department s management team and provide expertise to the District Strategic Leadership Council. As an integral part of leadership within a large Catholic organization, the incumbent must be a practicing Catholic. The successful candidate will also have extensive experience in an executive management role. Note: As part of a succession plan, the Director, Financial Services will work in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to learn the business operations and acquire a thorough knowledge of all financial activities and operational strategies for the district.
