1 1 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS PLAYHOUSE THEATRE STAGE DIMENSIONS 14.4m wide 9.9m deep 0.58m elevation from bottom of seating block with pit in use. Note: Playhouse Pit: pit can be filled in to allow for a flat floor room, theatre in the round, transverse. This requires significant time and effort and one must be prepared to: a. supply own crew and employ a supervisor to instruct them on installation. b. employ a sufficient number of local crew or own staff to carry out installation. The theatre must be reset to the standard configuration at the end of the production. The prompt side (PS) support space (wings) measure 5.7m wide at downstage edge and tapers to 3.8m wide upstage. Length is 9.5m. The opposite prompt (OP) support space (wings) measures 1.2m wide at downstage edge and tapers to 2.5m wide upstage. Length is 11.3m. Double doors measuring 1.9m wide by 2.4m high are situated at the upstage wall in the prompt side (PS) support space (wings) and give direct access to the loading dock area. Double doors are also situated in the centre of the upstage wall (giving direct access to the Playhouse Green Room) and the centre of the downstage wall (giving direct access to the main foyer). These doors measure 1.9m wide by 2.4m high. STAGE MANAGER The Stage Manager's position can be set in either PS or OP wing. The Stage Management portable desk is fitted out with the following: lectern light (blue), TV monitor of long view of Playhouse Theatre stage, headset & mic (for communication with control box), house and external telephone system and props table. Note: House lights and non-dim circuits can also be controlled from PS corner or Control Room Box. F/X Please inform us immediately if any fog, cigarettes, open flames (including candles and matches), or other f/x are required for the production. Material data sheets and descriptions must be provided four (4) weeks prior to company's arrival.

2 2 FLAME PROOFING Certificates for all material and scenery must be provided before arrival. OBSTRUCTIONS From time to time, staging rostra is stored in the prompt side of the Playhouse Theatre. Two sizes of rostra are available: 2m x 1.0m x 0.2 and/or 2.7m x 1.0m x 0.2m. The rostra stack upon each other and rarely exceed 1.8m in height. Lockable rollers on the bottom rostra allow for easy manoeuvrability should the rostra need to be relocated. FLOORING The Playhouse Theatre has a false floor. The stage is covered with three-quarter inch ply and a hardboard surface (painted black). This can be painted to suit production but should return to black on bump-out of performance. Note: It is possible for the false flooring to be removed to allow for theatre in the round, transverse, etc. This requires significant time and effort and one must be prepared to - a. Supply own crew and employ a supervisor to instruct them on the process of dismantling and assembling. b. Employ a sufficient number of local crew to break down and assemble. The theatre must be reset to the standard configuration at the end of the production.

4 4 LIGHTING DESK The Concert Chamber is equipped with a Electronic Theatre Controls EOS Family ION The Playhouse has a full scale WYSIWYG plan and is available on request. DIMMERS The Playhouse Theatre runs 24 x 12 channel 2.5K Theatrelight Digital dimmer packs. These dimmer packs are hard wired and are unable to be moved from the APA dimmer room. PATCHING The Playhouse Theatre is patched 1 to 1 Note: The lighting desk enables soft patching. HOUSE LIGHTS The Playhouse Theatre House Lighting system runs off 2 x 12 channel 2.5K Theatrelight Digital dimmer packs and has a 12 channel preset-able dimmer console.

Note: When channels are highlighted in bold case ( ), this means that there is a double up of this channel elsewhere in the theatre. Be warned that these channels appear in two places.
