1 Office Applications I Lesson Unit 1: MICROSOFT WORD BEGINNING SKILLS Microsoft Word and the Documents it can Create Determine the tasks that can be accomplished with Microsoft Word software. Examine the types of documents that can be created in Microsoft Word software. Open Microsoft Word software and enter and delete text. Navigating the Word Screen Successfully navigate through a Microsoft Word Identify the parts of a Microsoft Word screen. Open, Enter Text, Save and Print Create folders for organization Recognize that Microsoft Word allows you to share documents Demonstrate how to open, save, and print a document Font: Basic Editing Features Effectively modify text effects in a Change text formatting of a document to include color and size. Font Styles and the Clipboard Move text using the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands. Apply styles to encourage consistency in documents. Use the clipboard to modify documents. Project: Microsoft Word Document Formatting Apply formatting changes to a business Demonstrate use of font formatting and editing features in Word. Paragraph Formatting Features Explain the difference between different indent styles. Format paragraphs including ordered lists of information. Format paragraphs with different alignment and spacing. Apply shading to paragraphs. Identify the features in the Paragraph grouping. Use the Show/Hide button while editing documents. Page Setup Features Format page margins and page orientation. Modify pages to include columns. Backgrounds and Themes Apply a theme to a page to ensure consistency. Format a page background with colors, watermarks, and page borders.
