1 Mini Newsletter: Wednesday 27 th August 2014 Thank YOU! Without the time, effort and support of volunteers the Green Day Out would not have been as great as it was The volunteers came in many forms - some worked on the events committee, many made crafts, PLs and others helped source stall items, and brainstormed ideas. Many people donated and sourced silent auction items and others volunteered on the day. We had a huge number of people turn up on the day and they all enjoyed the talks, the activities and the food - thank you all for coming, and a big thank you to the staff members - admin., teachers and assistants, Colin - who gave such great support this year. The majority of our volunteers have paid employment, families and limited time. Thank you so much for making time to raise money to make the space for our children a little greener and to build on the great community we have. So far we have raised $20, for the school to spend on the green learning spaces at our two campuses. The Green Day Out was an exercise in fundraising and community building. We managed to get a lot of people outside our school community to participate and to strengthen our community. Thank you all for your time, donations, enthusiasm and generosity. It was a great day.

3 This year s fair brought to you by the ISMS Events Committee. A special thank you to these parents: Anne Director. Mad enough to do this again, her enthusiasm is plentiful. Ngar-yi Technical Director. Also mad as this is her third year. Justine The green one on the team, bringing together all the sustainable speakers and workshops. Paula Coordinator thoroughly organised, the queen of the drop box, a to do list, accounts and a spreadsheet. Felicity Communications including website, GDO s newsletter and media. Now has square eyes. Liz PL and class liaison, smoothie maker and seedling grower. Sally External stall holder coordinator, learnt to love excel. Karlie Awesome logo, poster, banner designer and a craft brigade member too. Todd Unit and logistics. Looks great in a navy uniform and a fluoro vest.

4 ISMS Holiday Care We are delighted to offer our ISMS families the opportunity for their ISMS children to attend holiday care these September/October holidays. Care will be provided from 8am to 6pm for 3 to 12 year olds during school holiday time, excluding weekends, pupil free days and public holidays. The service will be closed from 22nd December th January 2015 and will be reviewed after each vacation care period. All bookings must be through Trybooking two weeks in advance. Bookings this term will be open from midday Friday 29th August, and will close on Sunday the 14th September. The cost of holiday care for child one is $90.00 per day including afternoon tea, incursions and excursions. The sibling rate is $80.00 per day. There are no half day rates. Children enrolled over five days will pay $80.00 a day which is $ for the week, payable in advance. There will be a max of 20 children for each excursion, aged 5-12yrs, and we have many members of staff available for supervision and support. Children will need to bring: Morning tea, lunch, hat, helmet, sleeping blanket, change of clothes, appropriate active footwear and lots of enthusiasm for the theme of the day. Our program will deliver a fun, safe, interesting and educational opportunity for your children. For payment and enrolment details contact Sarah McKay at sarah.mackay@isms.nsw.edu.au or call Trybooking Link: Parent Survey Results MMG Education reports the response rate for the parents survey is now a very good 58%. If you have yet to complete your questionnaire or start it, may I encourage you to do so. Your contribution to this review cannot be underestimated and will provide very important information that will inform our planning for the future and the quality of services we provide you and your children. The survey will close Sunday at midnight. We have a couple of event date changes. The Stage 2 Hands On evening for Thursday 11 th September has been postponed to Week 3, Term 4. We will let you know the exact date when it has been confirmed. The Indigenous Literacy Day gold coin donation and book swap is now going to be held on the 4 th September
