2 The Magic of Colour... Simple splashes of colour bring an outfit and your style to life Having colour in your wardrobe is like having music in your life uplifting, powerful and you should always choose colours that make you smile. DEEP WARM AUTUMN COLOURS Your Autumn colouring can be the easiest to shop for as you can wear soft or clear tones. The darker your hair colour then the more you look fab in the stronger versions of your colour palette. When you shop always think rich, warm colours, never pale or pasty. WHEN SHOPPING Simply hold the Item up against your face and ask yourself would I describe this as a warm or rich colour? Use your colour examples in this guide to help you until you get used to this process. You do not need to look for colours only from this booklet. Simply use this as a guide for what you would describe as a warm deep colour. For example If you would describe the colour as a baby blue or a soft pink they are probably not part of your rich Autumn palette. Top Tip... Most women say I would never have the confidence to wear that colour when usually that very colour can give you the confidence you did not think you had. You don t always have to get it right but you always have to feel great in the item

4 THE SECRETS TO A WARDROBE YOU LOVE 50% of your wardrobe should be made up of neutral colours. Neutral colours form the basis of the best wardrobes. Buy the best quality you can afford and be prepared to have a wardrobe that allows you to mix and match much more easily. Choose a selection of good denim, dresses, a coat, tops etc in neutral colours. Next add other items from your brighter palette to really give your basics personality. This does not have to always be clothes. Think accessories, scarves and even lipstick or nail polish. Colour allows you to really be creative and express your unique personality. Always remember your face is the focal point on the body. It is important to know what colours you feel really great in up next to your face. Generally these are the ones you will love and get the most wear from in your wardrobe. Why? Because you feel good in them. Remember, these colours will be different for everyone. If you had a school uniform in a particular colour you are likely to hate that colour no matter what your colour guide says. When we come back from our holidays, aka have a tan or generally if you wear fake tan you will get away with much more vibrant colours. This goes for every season. So where you might feel washed out in a yellow in Winter you may love it in Summer. BEST NEUTRAL COLOURS To build a good foundation for your wardrobe choose from cream, ivory, camel, all warm browns, gold, bronze, olive, khaki and tan. BRIGHT COLOURS Red Orange red, rust and terracotta Orange Burnt /bright orange or coral tones Yellow Daffodil yellow Green Forest green, olive green, apple or lime green Blue Teal Purple Aubergine and plum White Avoid white and go for cream or ivory Pink Coral shades of pink Brown Tan, chocolate, camel Black The darker your hair colour the better black will be, brown may be better Avoid Greys, pinks and blue Top Tip: Your eye colour always looks good on you. 5 MAKEUP Your foundation must have warm undertones so look out for colours such as ivory, natural and tan. Bear in mind different beauty companies call warm and cool shades different things so always hold up a few samples and compare to find the one that has the right tone for your skin. 7 BUILDING A COLOURFUL CAPSULE It is so important to have a great capsule for each area of your life (for mum duties, work duties etc). Colour plays a huge part in this. From the picture you can see how essential your good basics are but equally how simple splashes of colour turn your capsule into a fantastic style with huge personality. How do I wear my Not so Good Colours? As your face is the focal point of your body it is most important to have a good understanding of why certain colours are just great up against your face and why you perhaps wear these Items from your wardrobe much more. This makes them a great buy but It does not mean you can not wear other colours. You can brighten up a not so good colour with some clever styling (accessories, scarves etc). This is called a COLOUR BREAK. A not so good colour usually only needs an accent colour to lift it. How to wear Black? Black can be a great colour on you the deeper your colouring. Wear it on its own or with other colours in your deep and warm palette but if you are very fair perhaps wear one of your lighter warmer colours close to your face. For a great look add tomato red or mahogany to your black. If you prefer you can do this through accessories with a striking red necklace or handbag. Alternatively camel or coffee will work brilliantly with black for a softer more approachable look. Choose soft white or ivory rather than pure white to contrast with black. The burnished tones of the lipstick and blushers in your make-up palette enhance your overall look when wearing black.
