Business covers areas that form the backbone of what we do; key support functions that make sure we do work efficiently day-to-day, as well as keeping our sights set firmly on the future. Technology does what it says on the tin; creating and developing the cutting-edge products and services that help us lead where others follow. This continues in Software, but gets you more involved in the development side where the magic happens for all things mobile and internet. We think you ll find we have something to offer everyone. But, if you re not sure where you see your future right now, you might like to join us on one of our work experience or placement opportunities. Work experience & placements These opportunities are a great way to try before you buy. We have over 1,000 opportunities available in more than 20 business areas. Some involve spending a day with us while most last between one and two weeks. Whether you re still at school or uni, or have recently graduated, you ll get an insight into a role and gain valuable new skills.

5 Technology Technology Cutting-edge, industry-leading technology right from the get-go. That s what s on offer to those of you joining us as Technology Graduates. You ll learn the ins and outs of our innovative products from our in-house experts before settling on the career path that s right for you. Sky is part of the family in more than one in three homes in the UK and Ireland. You ll get to learn all about the systems and infrastructure that keep them entertained whether it s delivering our must-see, top-quality programming; our innovative mobile and online content; lightning-fast broadband; Sky innovations, such as Sky Q, Sky AdSmart and NOW TV. Your two-year programme of practical, on-the-job learning kicks off with a seven-week induction to help you find your feet. Whichever location you choose, your rotations will cover life in Analysis, Development, Testing and Operations. In Livingston you could find yourself developing brand new customer management platforms or making sure customer accounts are managed securely. Join us in Osterley and you ll experience life working on anything from Broadcast and Sky Network Services to developing the latest apps, launching channels or testing brand new Sky products. 6 Software Engineering Academy Developer & DevOps When it comes to software, we re always one step ahead of the game. And you ll help keep us there. Whether you join us as a Developer or in DevOps, you ll get ahead fast with hands-on exposure and the latest agile project methodologies. From NOW TV and mobile app development, our innovative products are right at the cutting-edge of technology. They make our world go around. And you ll be at its beating heart. Everything web, mobile and internet TV-related is the domain of our Software Engineering teams. So you can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in areas including Sky.com, Sky News, My Sky, Sky Q and improvements to the way we work internally. Four weeks training will give you the grounding you need in software engineering principles, Java development, test-driven development and continuous build and integration. The next six months will see you put these into practice on live projects before you move into a permanent role within our Software Development team. If you re familiar with agile working methodologies, and are passionate about technology and developing software applications, we ll more than match this with a rich variety of opportunities to learn. I helped develop an app so people could watch Sky on Playstations 3 and 4.
