1 Hays CISD High School Summer School Lehman High School *Breakfast and Lunch will be provided at Lehman High School *Transportation will be provided from June 14 th July 23 rd (no school July 5 th ) *Transportation form must be returned with registration. COST Cost will be $100 per ½ credit & $200 for full credit courses. The fee for full credit courses will be paid in two installments. The first $100 is to be paid at the time of registration; the second $100 will be due before July 6 th. There is no fee for the TAKS review courses. Partial fee waivers will be available for students who have a financial need. Acceleration Get Ahead Summer School Classes will be offered for students wanting to get ahead in credits. A minimum number of students must register for the class to make. Each class is face to face with a teacher. Tuition will be accepted in cash, money order, cashier s check or online credit card payments only. NO PERSONAL CHECKS will be accepted. 8:00a.m. 2:00p.m. Session I only June 14 th July 2 nd ½ Credit (1 semester) courses - $ Communications Applications Health Session I & II (both sessions required) June 14 th July 2 nd & July 6 th July 23 rd 1 Credit (full year) courses - $ BCIS Geometry Pre AP Algebra II Pre AP Recovery Summer School If a student has completed one year of high school and is one or more years behind in any subject, that student may take summer school credit recovery for the subject in which they are behind. Juniors and Seniors who have not passed TAKS must be concurrently enrolled in the TAKS remediation class in addition to taking credit recovery classes. Tuition is $100 per ½ credit. Payment must be made in advance of each ½ credit attempt. Tuition will be accepted in cash, money order, cashier s check or online credit card payments only. NO PERSONAL CHECKS will be accepted. Students who need BCIS, Health or Communications Applications for recovery must register for the Acceleration Course 8:00 a.m. 2:00p.m. June 14 th July 2 nd (Session I) The following courses will be offered for recovery with a computer-based / self-paced instruction: Science Social Studies IPC A World Geography A IPC B World Geography B Biology A World History A Biology B World History B Chemistry A US History A Chemistry B US History B Principles of Technology 1A Economics* Principles of Technology 1B Government* * Only Seniors who should have graduated in May

Tuition is FREE. Students must register in the counseling office as soon as they are aware that they need the class. TAKS summer testing dates: TAKS ELA July 13 th TAKS Math July 14 th TAKS Science July 15 th TAKS Social Studies July 16 th Monday Friday 8:00a.m. 2:00p.m. June 14 th July 9 th (no class July 5 th ) Courses offered: TAKS Math TAKS ELA TAKS Social Studies TAKS Science Registration will begin April 26, 2010 and end on May 28, Late registration will be held June 1 st - June 8 th and a $20.00 late registration fee will apply. Late registration will depend on space availability. Payment and registration forms are to be turned in to the AP office at Hays HS or the Counseling office at Lehman HS. If a class does not make, a refund, in the form of a check, will be issued. 2

Students who have not met standard on Exit Level TAKS and who wish to take credit recovery courses will work on credit recovery and TAKS review. Students can only pay for and take one ½ credit recovery course at a time. However, after completing a course they may register and pay for another course by filling out a Supplemental Credit Application form. 4 Hays CISD SUMMER SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Payment will be made BEFORE the student is allowed to attempt the credit. No refunds will be made. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS. Payments may be made using cash, money order, cashier s check or online credit card payment. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. 2. Students must be in attendance. A student will be dropped after the third absence. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE WHEN A STUDENT IS DROPPED BECAUSE OF ATTENDANCE. 3. Tardiness will not be tolerated. A student will be dropped after the fourth tardy. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE WHEN A STUDENT IS DROPPED BECAUSE OF TARDIES. 4. Lehman High School dress code will be followed at all times. A copy of this dress code can be found in the Student Code of Conduct. Copies are available upon request. If a student refuses to follow dress code he/she will be removed from summer school. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE WHEN A STUDENT IS DROPPED FOR NOT FOLLOWING DRESS CODE. 5. Disciplinary problems will not be tolerated. If a student receives 2 discipline referrals he/she will be removed from summer school. If the infraction is considered serious by the summer school administration the student will be removed immediately. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE WHEN A STUDENT IS REMOVED FOR DISCIPLINARY REASONS. 6. Once on campus, students must stay on campus. We do not have an open campus. Students will be removed from summer school for leaving the campus during the school day. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE WHEN A STUDENT IS REMOVED FOR LEAVING CAMPUS WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM AN ADMINISTRATOR.
