3 ABOUT US! Fashion for Change is a student-run organization focused on providing opportunities for students to explore their interest in fashion while showcasing their artistic talents in our annual Charity Fashion Show. The show itself will bring together over a hundred volunteers from a variety of academic disciplines from both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. This opportunity provides students with a rich learning experience outside the classroom as well as a chance to participate in a socially beneficial activity in support of our global community. ABOUT THE EVENT! The high energy 2011 Fashion Show will be held on Friday, March 11 th at Hagey Hall Theatre located at the University of Waterloo. The fashion show is the largest of its kind hosted by the University of Waterloo and will consist of nine original choreographed dance scenes. The show itself will promote many local businesses including clothing stores as well as makeup and hairstyling schools within the Kitchener-Waterloo region. There will also be guest performances from various organizations within the Greater Toronto Area. OUR PARTNER " The 2011 fashion show will be partnering with Free the Children in support of their Brick by Brick campaign. The program aims to build new schools and provides children with quality education so they can break out of poverty and protect their own rights. As students at the University of Waterloo, we understand the importance of education to provide opportunities for personal growth. By organizing a successful show and receiving the support of sponsors like yourself, we hope to raise a total of $20 000, which will be enough to build two new schools in India and provide countless young children with textbooks in pursuit of their education. Free the Children s low administrative fee of 9.15% ensures that more of every dollar you donate will go to the impact zone.
