2 What is the verall purpse and bjective f this psitin (why des this psitin exist)? Mainly, this psitin functins as the Prject Management Accuntant and the Fixed Asset Accuntant in the Department f Finance fr the City f Unalaska under the general directin f the Finance Directr. This psitin is respnsible fr managing and reprting n prjects and fixed assets fr the City. Explain the level f supervisin received: Receives direct supervisin frm Finance Directr. Explain the level f supervisin this psitin exercises: N supervisry respnsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES List the majr duties and respnsibilities f the jb. The list may nt reflect the ranked imprtance f each respnsibility f r the main functins f the jb. 1. Maintains prductive wrking relatinships within the department and with representatives f the cmmunity at all levels, including elected fficials and staff, business, civic, and agency persnnel, bards and cmmissins, the media, and the public. 2. Manage prjects fr the City. a) Develp, analyze, interpret and prvide internal distributin f financial infrmatin fr each prject. b) Attend prject meetings with the Finance Directr, Prject Manager, City Engineer and ther pertinent staff. c) Effectively cmmunicate with the Finance Directr, Prject Manager, City Engineer and ther pertinent staff regarding cntract dcuments, change rders and ther cntract mdificatins, apprvals, and any additinal services related t cntract payments and expenses f each prject. d) Set up new prjects and budgets as created thrugh the CMMP prcess r thrughut the year by Cuncil. e) Meets regularly with the Finance Directr t ensure crdinatin and cnfrmance with City plicies, prcedures, and rdinances. f) Maintains spreadsheets fr each capital and nn-capital prject and recnciles spreadsheets t Munis (Financial Sftware) mnthly. g) Prepares prject reprts shwing verall prject revenues and expenses in cmparisn t budgeted amunts. h) Maintains cmplete prject files and adheres t the City f Unalaska's retentin plicy. i) Develpment f perating plicies and prcedures relating t prject accunting. Manage fixed assets. a) Develp, analyze, interpret and prvide internal distributin f financial infrmatin fr each fixed asset. b) Respnsible fr maintaining fixed asset sub-ledgers and the recnciliatin between the sub-ledgers and the general ledger. c) Respnsible fr the maintenance and recnciliatin f the Cnstructin in Prgress accunts. d) Set up new fixed assets as directed. e) Make recmmendatins fr develpment, implementatin and maintain internal cntrls ver assets in prgress. f) Develpment f perating plicies and prcedures relating t Fixed Asset accunting. 4. Organize preparatin, review prcess and analysis f peridic prject accunting reprts. a) Prepare mnthly prject reprts fr management. b) Prepare detailed prject reprts that assist managers. c) Prepare mnthly fixed asset reprts fr Directrs. d) Prepare depreciatin schedules annually. e) Make recmmendatins t imprve efficiency, cst and service. 5.
