7 Specific Programme structured around four broad lines a) Resource efficient transport that respects the environment To minimise transport's systems' impact on climate and the environment by improving its efficiency in the use of natural resources, and by reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and energy imports b) Better mobility, less congestion, more safety and security To reconcile the growing mobility needs with improved transport fluidity, through innovative solutions that make full use of modern ICT capabilities c) Global leadership for the European transport industry To reinforce the competitiveness and performance of European transport manufacturing industries and related services on global markets including logistic processes and retain areas of European leadership (e.g. aeronautics) d) Socio-economic and behavioural research and forward looking activities for policy making To support improved policy making including the internalisation of external costs, and the societal needs related to it

A new topic in Mobility for Growth - Future research needs and priorities - and contribution to the ELENA Facility confirmed A new topic in Green Vehicles to support the development of a battery cells production base in Europe A more explicit reference to climate relevance in several topics Open Access to Data policy as a pivotal factor to boost innovation: applies by default to the whole H2020 and not only to pilot areas

Call Automated Road Transport (H2020-ART ) Indicative budget: EUR 50 million in IAs topics focusing on demonstrations of automation driving systems for trucks and urban transport as well as on ICTinfrastructure for road automation Two-stage procedure for all IAs Deadlines 2016: 26 January 2017 (1st stage proposals) 27 September 2017 (2nd stage proposals)

Call Green Vehicles (H2020-GV ) Indicative budget: EUR 133 million in topics supporting research, technological development and demonstration of low-carbon vehicles New topic on Production of next generation battery cells in Europe for transport applications Single stage procedure for all topics Deadline 2016: 1 February 2017

13 Single-stage procedure Applicants submit a full proposal of pages depending on the type of action The proposal gives all information to assess the excellence, impact and efficiency of the project s implementation

14 Two-stage procedure Applicants submit an outline proposal by the deadline of the first stage Outline proposal does not exceed ten pages (unless specified otherwise) presents the broad lines of the project s concept while still demonstrating its excellence and relevance to the impacts listed in the WP If successful in the 1st stage, applicants are invited to submit a Full proposal must be consistent with the outline proposal has the same requirements as for the singlestage submission procedure

Challenge: Helping the development of technologies to reduce emissions of pollutants in real driving conditions Scope: 1. The existing fleet (retrofittable technology) EUR 1,5 million 2. 30 What percentage of proposals received funding? full proposals that were received, comprising full proposals in single-stage calls and full proposals in the second stage of the two-stage calls Around 14% of full proposals were selected for funding

31 What are the success rates of the different Member States? Taking all applications from all Member States together, the overall success rate is approximately 16% An organisation can submit multiple applications for funding if it is involved in more than one proposal, therefore the success rate for proposals (around 14%) differs from the rate of applications

32 How does each Member State s success rate compare with FP7? Taking all applications from all Member States together, the overall success rate is approximately 16% The equivalent success rate under FP7 was approximately 22%
