2 INSTALLATION Relay bracket Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. Clip B 1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2. Remove the trunk lid/fuel fill door opener cover (four retaining tabs and two hooks). Remove one selftapping screw. Using the key, unlock the trunk lock. 3 4. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver s kick panel (two clips). 6. Lower the tilt lever, and turn the steering wheel 90 counterclockwise. 4 8. Turn the steering wheel 180 clockwise. 11. Remove two self-tapping screws from the lower column cover. Remove the upper column cover (four hooks). 12. Remove the lower column cover (one self-tapping screw). 5 13. Remove the front bumper: Attach tape around the headlights as shown. Wrap a shop towel around the hood latch. Remove the 4 self-tapping screws, 10 short clips, and 2 long clips. Q0D1301AH With the help of an assistant, remove the front bumper (two hex bolts and two clips). Place the front bumper on a blanket to prevent damage. 15. Pull back the right inner fender as shown. 16. 7 Installing the fog lights 17. Remove the left cover from the front bumper (nine retaining tabs). 19. Secure the left fog light to the left fog light cover with three 5 x 16 mm self-tapping screws. LEFT COVER BUMPER LEFT COVER (Discard.) 18. Install two spring nuts to the front bumper. 9 RETAINING TABS Q0N0402AT LEFT FOG LIGHT 3 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS, 5 x 16 mm QA13102AH 20. Install the left fog light into the front bumper, with two 5 x 20 mm self-tapping screws. BUMPER SPRING NUTS 9 HOOKS BUMPER Q0N0403AT SELF-TAPPING SCREWS, 5 x 20 mm LEFT Q0N0404BT 21. 8 Routing the fog light harness 22. Route the fog light harness 1-pin connector and ground terminal between the right headlight and the vehicle frame. RIGHT HEADLIGHT 26. Remove three bolts and one clip, and move the washer tank aside. RIGHT HEADLIGHT HOOK GROUND TERMINAL 1-PIN FRAME Q080114AH 3 BOLTS 23. Secure the clip to the vehicle frame as shown. 24. Remove the blue tape from the vehicle 1-pin connector. WASHER TANK Q080113BH 27. Remove the vehicle ground bolt. 1-PIN GROUND BOLT (Reuse.) BLUE TAPE 1-PIN WASHER TANK Q080115BH 25. Plug the fog light harness 1-pin connector into the vehicle 1-pin connector as shown. GROUND TERMINAL GROUND Q080116AH TERMINAL 28. 9 29. Reinstall the washer tank. 31. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle hole with one wire tie as shown. RIGHT HEADLIGHT WIRE TIE WASHER TANK HOLE Q0N0477AH 30. Using four wire ties, secure the fog light harness to the vehicle harness. Do not secure the fog light harness to the washer tube. Q080118BH 32. 10 33. Secure the clip to the vehicle frame as shown. FRAME 37. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the vehicle beam where the aluminum tapes will attach. 2 ALUMINUM TAPES (Cut.) Clean with isopropyl alcohol. ALUMINUM TAPES LEFT HEADLIGHT BEAM Q080120AH 34. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the vehicle beam where the aluminum tape will attach. ALUMINUM TAPE (Cut.) GREEN TAPE ALUMINUM TAPE Align. Clean with isopropyl alcohol. BEAM Q080121CH 38. Cut two aluminum tapes in half. 39. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicle beam with the four cut pieces of aluminum tape. 40. Reinstall the front bumper absorber. Q0D1306CH 35. Cut one aluminum tape in half. 36. Align the green tape as shown, and secure the fog light harness to the vehicle beam with a cut piece of aluminum tape. 11 41. With the help of an assistant, plug the fog light harness 2-pin connector into each fog light, and install the front bumper in the original position. Install the clips securely. 43. Remove the vehicle harness connector from the vehicle harness 13-pin connector. 12 44. Remove the clip from the vehicle harness 13-pin connector, and install clip B on the 13-pin connector. 46. Release the retainer on the vehicle harness 13-pin connector. 13 48. Remove the vehicle bolt from the hood opener. 51. Install the relay on the switch harness relay block. HOOD OPENER RELAY HOOD OPENER RELAY BLOCK BOLT (Reuse.) SWITCH RELAY BRACKET Align. Q080207AH 52. Secure the switch harness relay block to the relay bracket. Q0N0408AT 49. Attach the relay bracket in the position shown, and reinstall the vehicle bolt. 50. 14 Without Another Accessory Harness 4-pin or 6-pin connector 53. Plug the switch harness 4-pin connector and 6-pin connector into the fuse box. Go to step PIN 6-PIN FUSE BOX With Another Accessory Harness 4-pin connector 55. If the 4-pin connector is already used by another accessory, locate the 4-pin connector taped to the other accessory harness. Plug the switch harness 4-pin connector into the other accessory harness. Plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the fuse box. 4-PIN SWITCH 4-PIN Q080209AH 6-PIN With Another Accessory Harness 6-pin connector 54. If the 6-pin connector is already used by another accessory, locate the 6-pin connector taped to the other accessory harness. Remove the dummy connector from the accessory harness 6-pin connector and plug the switch harness 6-pin connector into the other accessory harness. Plug the switch harness 4-pin connector into the glove box. Go to step 56. SWITCH 56. Using two wire ties, secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness. 15 57. Using two wire ties, secure the switch harness to the vehicle harness. 60. Install the new combination light switch onto the steering column. Do not push on the lever. STEERING COLUMN STEERING WHEEL 2 WIRE TIES NEW COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH Do not push on the lever. SWITCH Q080211AH 58. Unplug the vehicle connector from the combination light switch. STEERING COLUMN STEERING WHEEL 2 RETAINING TABS (Push.) Q080213CH 61. Plug the vehicle connector into the new combination light switch. If a fuse is already installed in the fuse box, go to step 65. If not, continue with step Plug the 20A fuse into the fuse box. COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH (Discard.) FUSE BOX Do not pull on the lever. 20A FUSE 2 RETAINING TABS (Push.) Q080212CH 59. Push the two retaining tabs and slide the combination light switch out of the steering column. Do not pull on the lever when removing the switch. 16 63. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the driver s kick panel where the fuse label will attach. How to Operate the Fog Lights Turn the headlight switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Turn the fog light switch on (indicator is on). Clean with isopropyl alcohol. ATTACHING LOCATION HEADLIGHT SWITCH FUSE LABEL (20A OPTION FUSE) OFF Low High DRIVER S KICK PANEL Q0D1312AH SWITCH OFF ON Attach the fuse label to the driver s kick panel. 65. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 66. Reinstall all removed parts. 67. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery and check operation of all lights and other electrical accessories. 68. Press and hold the radio power button for two seconds to restore radio and navi (if equipped) system functions. 69. Reset the clock. The auto light model is shown. Q0D2101AH If the fog lights do not turn on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. 17 Fog Light Aiming Adjustment BULB REPLACEMENT Adjust the fog light aim by turning the adjustment screw in or out until the correct aim is obtained. Adjust the aim according to local laws and regulations. Remove the fog light assembly from the bumper (two self-tapping screws and unplug the vehicle connector). RETAINING TAB (Push.) Pull. To raise. 18 3. Install the new bulb into the fog light. 4. Use only a genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N S5A-0030 Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is lit. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with a denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution. When installing the new bulb, align the cutout in the fog light with the tab on the new bulb and turn the new bulb until it locks. If the bulb is not properly installed, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers. Reinstall the fog light assembly and tighten the selftapping screws securely.
