1 !"## $ $ $ % &' Dear Member: Thank you for your interest in the Executive Leadership Program. We are delighted to offer this exceptional program to our members. The MSEC Executive Leadership Program offers a unique, multi-layered approach to leadership development. To create long-term excellence, leaders need to accurately assess their strengths and development areas. They also must practice their learning in a variety of contexts over time. This eight-month program incorporates a robust leadership assessment tool, four training modules, eight one-on-one coaching sessions, three action-learning sessions and a self-directed workplace project. Throughout the program, participants integrate key elements of effective leadership, including organizational stewardship, personal mastery, and interpersonal mastery. As a result of the program, participants develop: - Understanding of the impact they have on the organization and its employees - Clarity of purpose and vision - Enhanced working relationships - Skill in conducting critical conversations - Competence for creating and sustaining organizational change - Innovative problem-solving abilities - Knowledge and skills for creating organizational learning and process improvement In essence, leaders become more intentional, self-correcting and effective. We cordially invite you to join us for this career-changing journey. Enclosed is a brochure and application for the Executive Leadership Program. To learn more about the program, please contact us. Sincerely, MOUNTAIN STATES EMPLOYERS COUNCIL, INC. Peggy Penberthy Mike Kraft

3 What is the Executive Leadership Program? To lead effectively, today s executives must continuously develop themselves and cultivate their relational skills. Without both self-awareness and interpersonal excellence, they cannot expect to inspire employees to give their best effort in rapidly changing work environments. At the organizational level, leaders must possess the skills and wherewithal to envision, plan, and implement frequent and often sweeping changes. They do all of this under intense scrutiny from peers, subordinates and other stakeholders. They must accomplish more with fewer resources. They are challenged with harnessing the rigor, enthusiasm and creativity of their employees. They must ensure that short-term objectives serve long-term goals. The challenge is clear: lead courageously. Take inspired and decisive action or lose the confidence of your employees and the marketplace. MSEC s Executive Leadership Program is a transformational experience that will deepen awareness and catalyze the development of crucial skills for executives and senior managers who demonstrate high leadership potential. The eight-month learning laboratory provides insights and breakthrough opportunities that have an immediate and significant impact on a leader s contributions to the organization. Our integrated approach challenges leaders to explore deeply their own perceptions of leadership. Program faculty support participants as they work to integrate time-honored and cutting-edge leadership practices into their own leadership styles. The leadership development opportunity MSEC offers reflects our 60+ years of professional service to you, our members. If you think this program may be for you, please take a few moments to read about the program components. We believe each stands on its own and is strengthened by the others. The Executive Leadership Program is facilitated by senior staff from MSEC and outside consultants who have excelled in corporate, academic, and other leadership capacities. Come and join us... make a difference for your future.
