2 What is a Pow Wow? Pow Wow is a one-day supplemental Cub Scout leader training extravaganza! It goes beyond Basic Training for Cub Scouting adults, providing ideas and how-to's in a wide variety of topics. Pow Wow is the event of the year to renew knowledge, learn current policies, and share experiences in Scouting. All Cub Scouting adults are invited and encouraged to attend. There will be something for everyone at this, the biggest Cub Scout training event of the year! It also fills one of the training requirements for most Leader Training Knots. Who should attend Cub Leader Pow Wow? Everyone! All registered adult Cub Scout Leaders, potential leaders, and interested parents. That would include: Cubmasters and assistant Cubmasters, Tiger den leaders, assistants and partners, Cub and Webelos leaders and their assistants, pack committee members and chairpersons. Oh, let s not forget charter organization representatives and parents, too. Even if you are not registered, but interested in Cub Scouting you're invited too! Training sessions offer relevant topics for every Cub Scout position to help you make your Cub Scout program more fun for the boys... and you too! Course Offerings: Select from a list of 35 offerings, including Youth Protection Training for those who need to update. Courses will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis and we will do our best to accommodate all of your selections. Class Schedules: You will create your class schedule as part of the on-line registration process. You will select the classes you want to take and can see the availability as you register. Midway Display Area: Not only are there classes at Pow Wow, but there will be a number of outside organizations sharing opportunities for den and pack activities. Visit the Midway to get information for activities that your den or pack can participate in. Also get information here about summer camp, product sales for fundraisers, training opportunities, and other programs. If you have a static display to share, please contact the Pow Wow chair (contact shown below). Also, please bring your favorite crafts, with a tag for a how-to point of contact, to display on our craftsharing display. Let's share those great ideas with other Packs and Dens! What to Wear and Bring: Wear your uniform and comfortable shoes. Bring a bag or day-pack to carry handouts and other trophies and trinkets you pick up. Many people bring cameras or tape recorders. At the very least, bring a notepad and pencil. Child Care: Not available. Please try to not bring children so as to not distract your classmates.
