It may include care for patients who have multiple diagnoses, none of which is the principal diagnosis. The First Floor Sub-acute Unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital (WMH) operates 20 beds for patients requiring geriatric evaluation and management (GEM) and 6 transition care program (TCP) beds. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a senior position that encompasses management responsibilities, particularly in the day-to-day organisation of the ward in the absence of the NUM. The ANUM works as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides, quality client-focused care ensuring a holistic approach to the patient, and their carers. The ANUM will act as a role model by encouraging a best practice philosophy amongst the staff and practice within the core values of Mercy Health. Essential: Registered with AHPRA, Division 1 holding a current practicing certificate. Relative experience in Subacute or Aged care Demonstrated experience in leadership and management. Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. Desirable: Post graduate qualification or equivalent in the relevant speciality or working towards same. Undertakes supervision, support, feedback and direction. Demonstrates competence in assessing and delivering appropriate nursing care. Monitors the progress of patient s clinical management to ensure optimal care delivery. Monitors the accuracy of patient records.
