3 Judges: Marge Margentino, Bridgewater, NJ Helen Heinzer, Newton, NJ Judge 3 - TBA GENERAL RULES All ponies must be 14.2 hands or under. Breed classes/divisions open to NJ Bred and Non-NJ Bred registered ponies and Miniatures. In order for NJ bred ponies to earn NJ State Breed Award monies there must be two or more entries in a Breed class and they must show under three different judges. Cross entering between Miniature and Shetland classes is not permitted. Classes with fewer than two (2) entries will be combined when possible. Where applicable, classes will be divided if entries warrant. PERFORMANCE CLASSES: All ponies must be 3 years and older to compete. ASTM approved safety headgear must be worn by junior exhibitors when mounted or driving anywhere on the show grounds and by ALL when mounted. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Braiding optional in all classes. REMINDER: You must be a member of the N.J.P.B. & O. and nominate your pony and yourself for awards prior to the start of the show in order to have points count towards year-end awards. New Jersey-Bred ponies must have Show Certification forms into their Breed Awards Chairpersons by October 4 th of the current year in order to be eligible for NJ State awards. SHOW PHOTOS will be available at NO FOOD AVAILABLE ON THE GROUNDS. PLEASE BRING LUNCH.

4 OPEN BREED DIVISIONS Open Breed Classes will start at 10:00 AM All ponies entered must be registered with the National association of their breed. If under one year of age, they must be eligible for registration. All classes and judging will follow the specifications and rules of each breed s National association and of the New Jersey Pony Breeders and Owners, Inc. Consult NJPBO Rule Book for class specifications. NOTE: A copy of the ponies REGISTRATION PAPERS must accompany the ENTRY. 5 Shetland Pony All Foundation entries must be certified Foundation Shetland and provide stamped papers showing proof of certification. No cross entering between Classic and Foundation Shetlands is permitted. Note: Stallions three years and older must have all the fully developed physical characteristics of a stallion. 8. 6 OPEN CLASSES/DIVISIONS Classes are Single Judged: Members $15 Non-Members $20 Driving (Single and Multiples) To be shown in a suitable two or four wheeled vehicle. Wire wheels acceptable. Driver must wear a hat, apron, gloves, and carry a whip. Junior drivers 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult and wear an ASTM approved helmet. Time will be allowed for competitors to walk the course. Course to be posted at least one hour before Division starts. Division open to Adult and Junior Drivers. Competitors 14 years of age and under MUST be accompanied by an experienced driver. 26. Open Pleasure Driving Working To be shown both ways of the ring at a walk, working trot, slow trot, strong trot. 27. Open Pleasure Driving Reinsmanship To be shown both ways of the ring at a walk, working trot, slow trot, strong trot. Individual testing at judge s discretion. Champion and Reserve - Classes 26, 27 Cobbs Lady Frontier Trophy awarded to the pony/miniature with the fastest obstacle/cones time Unregistered Ponies 28. Halter - All ages and sexes - Will be asked to move off the line at the walk and trot. Spring Sunshine Trophy to be awarded the winner of the Halter Class Leadline Open to riders who have not reached their 8 th birthday by December1 st. Pony must be led by an adult using a leadline. 29. Leadline Walk 30. Leadline Walk/Trot Championship and Reserve Classes 29, 30 MISCELLANEOUS OPEN CLASSES Classes are Single Judged: Members $15 Non-Members $20 Showmanship 31. Junior Showmanship - Open to exhibitors who have not reached their 18 th birthday as of Dec. 1 st. 32. Adult Showmanship - Open to exhibitors 18 years and over. Proper attire required. At the discretion of the judge, a pattern may be required. 33. COSTUME CLASS - Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. 34. REGISTERED PONIES OF OTHER BREEDS - Halter Open to other breeds of ponies not eligible for the Open Breed Divisions listed and not recognized by the NJPB&O, Inc. and NJ Equine Advisory Board. Will be asked to move off the line at the walk and trot.
