Exhibitor Tickets: Adults & Students $ Child (6 to 12) $ and under Free Exhibitor must purchase a exhibitor ticket unless current IPE membership is held. Attendants Tickets may be issued as follows: 1 ticket for each 4 horses. POST DATED CHEQUES: will NOT be accepted if dated after August 5, NO LATE OR POST ENTRIES. Unless approved by the Department 5 Director. Entry fee may then be Doubled. Post entries for the Morning classes will be made the day before. Afternoon classes will be made in the morning by 11:00am and evening classes will be made by 3:00pm (if allowed). PRIZE MONEY: 1 st $50, 2 nd $45, 3 rd $40, 4 th $35, 5 th 30, 6 th 25. Except Equitation, Horsemanship & Reinsmanship. Halter Championship classes ribbons only to Champion and Reserve Champion. *Prize Money Cheques are not processed until after October 15 th, 2016 STABLING REGULATIONS: Due to limited stabling, entries will be limited to the number of stalls available. STALL FEE: $15.00 per day for Box Stalls STALL DEPOSIT / RESERVATION: A SEPARATE $25.00 per stall clean up deposit / stall reservation cheque is to accompany entry forms. Please date this cheque for September 5 th. Refunded from the Show Offi ce Thursday p.m. or Sunday p.m. ONLY when stalls are inspected and clean. Any not claimed will be shredded at the main offi ce. A $25.00 stall reservation/cleanup fee will NOT be refunded if exhibitor does not bring their horse. Exhibitors are Encouraged to include stall decorations as part of their exhibit so that the exhibits will attract the attention of the public. BEST DECORATED STALL(S) Originality will be considered. A $25.00 prize for Best stall or stalls. Arrival Times: Exhibitors not arriving on time may be refused entry. Halter and Jumpers (Wednesday, Thursday) Horses must be on grounds 2pm - 10pm Tuesday night. Halter horses may leave at 5pm Wednesday by permission from Director. Jumpers will leave after 5pm Thursday. Open Show - (Wednesday to Sunday) Horses must be on grounds 2pm - 10pm Tuesday night. Arrangements can be made for earlier arrivals. Open Show - (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Horses to be on grounds 7pm - 10pm Thursday and not allowed to leave before 8pm Sunday. Some horses will be given permission to arrive 6am - 8am Friday morning.
2 The 117 th Annual IPE Prize Book 45 Departure: No earlier then 8pm Sunday September 4 th Competitors are encouraged to stay Sunday night and leave Monday morning after a complementary breakfast courtesy of the IPE. Exhibitors leaving early without permission will forfeit all prize money. Every class herein is covered by the rules and specifi cations of the current rules of the H.C.B.C. and will be held and judged in accordance with the H.C.B.C Rule Book. Exhibitor must produce photocopy of HCBC membership to be eligible to compete. Results will not affect eligibility of horse/rider/driver for maiden, novice, limit or other restricted classes, excepting as noted in Department rules. V4W 3N5 Phone: The Interior Provincial Exhibition horse show is recognized by the Horse Council of B.C. as a qualifi er for the Western Heritage Championship as noted by the WH. The I.P.E Rules will be in effect for all classes. CLASS RULES AND REGULATIONS HALTER HORSES - No Draft Horse Breeds can show in the Light Horse Halter Classes. No Cross entries. Except Sport Pony and Sport Horse classes. Horses in Halter and applicable breed classes to be shown and judged according to Breed Specifi cation rules. Championship Stake entries must have been entered, shown and judged in the specifi c qualifying classes. JUMPER CLASSES Jumper #1: One round competition against the clock. Faults not converted to time. Competitors with equality of penalties are placed in accordance with the time take to complete the round. No Jump off Jumper #2: All rounds that are clear and within the time allowed will continue on for immediate jump off JUMPING - The jumps in the warm-up ring will be fl agged. Riders are to observe the fl ags and take turns. All persons walking the course must be properly attired. Wearing of a hard hat with secure harness is compulsory for anyone jumping a horse on the grounds. HOOF AND WOOF - Enter as class no entry fee. Horses will jump MAX 2 feet 6 inches. MAXIMUM of 10 entries will be accepted. This is an entertainment fun class. Must have entered one other jumping or hunter over fences class Horses must walk quietly to receive ribbons otherwise rider is to dismount and lead horse to receive ribbon. DRIVING - All driving horses must be hitched, warmed-up and shown in designated areas ONLY. Absolutely NO driving allowed on the grounds outside designated rings Driving classes held in Ring #1 will be hitched in the adjacent hitch ring. Warm-up driving available in Ring #1. Driving horses must be accompanied by a header to and from Ring #2. All drivers in the games and obstacle classes must wear a helmet with a secure harness. All Drivers must wear a HELMET at all times when driving. DRIVING HORSES shall use appropriate light weight vehicle and light horse harness with breast collar. Horses for the Obstacle Driving classes in Ring #2 will be hitched in the adjacent collecting ring. Drivers should exercise safe driving practices. All drivers under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by a knowledgeable adult horseman. Excluding Miniature Horses. ** All Driving In Department 5 Will Be Driven In A Two Wheel Cart* AGES: Junior Competitor: 13 years and under as of January 1 st of the competition year Youth Competitor: years as of January 1st of the competition year Senior Competitor: 18 years and over as of January 1 st of the competition year. If an open class is a BC Heritage qualifying class: the judge must separately place Jr and Senior exhibitors for the purpose of BC Heritage qualifying score recording. Show management may place and award class as a whole. The age of the horses shall date from the 1st of January of the year in which they were foaled.

Junior competitors must wear properly fi tted, approved protective headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured at all times while mounted on the competition or event grounds. Approved headgear must be certifi ed by the SEI or another testing body that it meets the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standard or the British Standards Institution (BSI) standard. a) This ruling applies at Horse Council of B.C.- sanctioned competitions. b) Juniors not complying with this rule will not be allowed to compete in competitions that require approved headgear. All riders are urged to put their own safety fi rst and start wearing only approved helmets. The Association reserves the right to cancel any Class with insuffi cient entries and to re-allot entries to any other suitable class under Breed or Any Other Breed classes. There must be three eligible in the total aggregate of each breed of either sex to warrant a Championship. First and second place winners make up the Championship classes. Elimination can occur if: a) the team has 2 total refusals or b) a rider crosses the fi nish line before last jump has been completed. There is no minimum time requirement. At 3 minutes there will be bell after which no further movements will be scored. Attire, tack & saddlery to comply with respective disciplines rules & regulations, score guidelines. a) General score for movements the quality of presentation. b) Artistic Expression: a) Choreography: planning & arranging of the movements b) Originality: new moves, ways to present manoeuvres with increased diffi culty, c) Musicality: how is the music used to develop a theme or mood d) Presentation & Balance: how well the rider/handler uses the whole arena. 10 The 117 th Annual IPE Prize Book 53 RANCH HORSE PLEASURE CLASS The purpose of Ranch Horse pleasure the horse should refl ect the versatility, attitude and movement of a working horse, the horse s performance should simulate a horse riding outside the confi nes of an arena and that of a working ranch horse. This class should show the horse s ability to work at a forward working speed while under control by the rider. Light contact should be rewarded and horse shall not be shown on a full drape of reins.
