1 The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary The Joyful Mysteries

2 The Five Luminous Mysteries are traditionally prayed on Thursdays: The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan, The Wedding Feast at Cana, Jesus' Proclamation of the Coming of the Kingdom of God, The Transfiguration, and The Institution of the Eucharist. There are four sets of Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and added by Pope John Paul II in 2002 the Luminous. The Five Joyful Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays of Advent: The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity, The Presentation in the Temple, and The Finding in the Temple. The Five Sorrowful Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Tuesday, Friday, and Sundays of Lent: The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning with Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, and The Crucifixion and Death. The Five Glorious Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Wednesday and Sundays outside of Lent and Advent: The Resurrection, The Ascension, The Descent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption, and The Coronation of Mary.

3 7. On the large bead, finish with a Glory Be after each decade. Some say the Fatima Prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima. 8. When finished with all five decades say the Hail Holy Queen, Rosary Prayer, and close with The Sign of the Cross on the Miraculous Medal. 4. Say a Glory Be. 3. Say three Hail Marys on the three beads. 5. For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery, then say the Our Father. 6. On each of the small beads, say ten Hail Marys. 2. On the first bead say an Our Father. 1. Make the Sign of The Cross. Holding the Crucifix, say the Apostles Creed.

4 We begin by making THE SIGN OF THE CROSS In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen APOSTLE S CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

5 THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this Day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. THREE HAIL MARYS Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you; Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

6 GLORY BE Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

7 FIRST JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE ANNUNCIATION Luke 1:26-38 Then the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.

8 THE GLORY BE Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. FATIMA PRAYER "O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy". Amen.

9 SECOND JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE VISITATION Mary set out and traveled to the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." Luke 1:39-45

10 THIRD JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE BIRTH OF JESUS Luke 2: 1-20 And Mary gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.

11 FOURTH JOYFUL MYSTERY: PRESENTATION OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE Luke 2: Mary and Joseph took the baby Jesus to the Temple to present him to the Lord. At the temple Simeon and Anna came forward, gave thanks to God and spoke about Jesus to all who were present.

12 FIFTH JOYFUL MYSTERY: FINDING JESUS IN THE TEMPLE Luke 2:41-52 The boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

13 THE HAIL HOLY QUEEN HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

14 O GOD, whose Only Begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord.
