2 MISSION Quest Early College High School is committed to providing a whole-child learning experience in a working partnership with the community to create college-educated lifelong learners and successful members of a global society VISION We envision schools where students and staff are enthusiastically engaged in learning within local and virtual environments. We see schools that encourage collaboration and cultivate a sense of belonging. We see learning standards that are rigorous and relevant. We see learning standards that inspire creativity and problem solving. Ultimately, we see schools that prepare students for many paths and that empower them with skills to successfully live in a rapidly changing world. NEEDS SUMMARY The Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) was conducted as part of the planning and decision-making process. Data were analyzed to address areas including: demographics, student achievement, school culture and climate; staff quality, recruitment and retention; curriculum, instruction and assessment; family and community involvement; school organization and technology. The following summary addresses the key findings and needs to be addressed. Goal 1: s General/Comprehensive Needs: Data to determine progression in multiple academic areas. s RELA: Create an effective Writing Lab for students needing remediation in writing skills. Goal 2: s Parent Involvement: Increase the number of respondents in the Parent Survey to 80% Goal 3: s General/Comprehensive Needs: Specialized professional development to meet the needs of facilitators teaching on an Early College High School campus. Goal 4: s Efficiency & Effectiveness: Committees to review organizational structures and processes will make recommendations for improvements. Page 2

18 NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT (NCLB) PERFORMANCE GOALS Performance Goal 1: All students will reach high standards, at a minimum attaining proficiency or better in reading/language arts and mathematics. Performance Goal 2: All limited English proficient students will become proficient in English and reach high academic standards, at a minimum attaining proficiency or better in reading/language arts and mathematics. Performance Goal 3: All students will be taught by highly qualified teachers.
