1 G. W. CARVER 2013/2014 DRESS CODE Standard Mode of Dress for Female Students Tops Tops: Tops colors are grade specific. All shirts will be solid colors. They maybe button style polo, oxford, dress or knit collared shirts. 6th Grade Girls will wear white shirts. 7th Grade Girls will wear Yellow/Gold shirts. 8th Grade Girls will wear Blue (Royal) shirts. Bottoms: Capris/Pants/Skirts/Shorts/ Bottoms Bottoms should be Khaki; Tan or Beige in color. They may be pleated, flat front or cargo style. Material may be cotton twill, chino, etc.; most fabrics. Denim material is not allowed except on spirit days. Note: No sagging Footwear Footwear: Shoes/boots may be any color or pattern. Footwear must be leatherlike, canvas, loafer type, or tennis shoes (tie or slip). Shoes or sandals must have a strap around the heel. Combat boots, moccasins, shoes, flip flops, cleats or roller hills (skates) are not allowed. Outer Wear Outerwear: Students may wear sweaters and jackets. Hoodies are not allowed.
2 Belts Belts: Students may wear any color or style of belt as long as it is leather-like or canvas material with a buckle. Head Coverings Head Coverings: Students are not allowed to wear wave caps, stockings, hats, bandanas, headbands or any other material that covers the head. However, girls may wear hair restrainers such as clips, bows, and rubber bands. Note: The administrative staff reserves the right to amend this policy for special occasions. Exemptions and opt-out provisions will be considered for religious or medical reasons. Piercings and Tattoos Piercings: Students are not allowed to have facial piercings or tongue rings. Tattoos Tattoos: Students are not allowed to have tattoos that are a disruption to the learning environment. Note: Tattoos that are deemed as a disruption by Carver Middle School administration must be covered at all times. Spirit Day Carver Middle School will have spirit day throughout the school year. Students will be allowed to wear jeans and grade level spirit T-shirt.
