1 Assembling Directions Materials Needed: o First Draft o Pencil or Pen o Final Draft Templates o Colour Pencils/Markers o Evaluation Rubric o Scissors, Glue and Tape 1. Using your edited First Draft, complete the writing sections in your Wanted Poster templates. Draw and colour a picture of the character in the PHOTOGRAPH box. 2. Be sure to follow the steps below and do not cut along the primary black borders until the final step. This will help to ensure that the left, right, top and bottom margins are even. 3. Cut off the top dotted line on the NOVEL DESCRIPTION/NOVEL SUMMARY template. Glue this template on top of the PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION/LAST SEEN template. 4. Cut off the left dotted lines on the PHOTOGRAPH template. Glue this template on top of the PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION/LAST SEEN template. 5. Cut off the top and left dotted lines on the WANTED FOR template. Glue this final template on top of the other three templates, making sure that all of the borders meet evenly. 6. Cut out the WANTED text box. Write your character s name in this box and glue it at the top of your Wanted Poster between the two thumb tacks. 7. Cut out the REWARD AMOUNT text box and glue it in the middle of your Wanted Poster (above NOVEL DESCRIPTION and WANTED FOR). 8. Now, cut out your Wanted Poster along the left, right, top and bottom black margins. Colour all of the sections of your Wanted Poster. 9. Your book will not tell you the character s height or weight, so you will need to make a reasonable estimate for these two sections in the chart. If your book does not state the colour of your character s eyes or hair, you can choose these characteristics yourself. Distinguishing features are characteristics that make a person look unique (examples: wears glasses, has a scar on face, has a beard, wears a top hat). 3 WANTED FOR: Think of something that your character has done and why he/she is wanted by the police. You can make the crime related to something that has happened in the book, or you can make up something new that the character has done. Write a detailed narrative describing the actions that happened and what made the character commit this crime. Try to use interesting adjectives and colourful verbs in your narrative. WANTED FOR:

4 LAST SEEN: Describe where the character was when he/she was last seen by another person. What was the character doing? What was the character wearing? NOVEL SUMMARY: Write a short summary about the plot of this book. The plot is the main events and actions that happen in the story. Remember to proofread and edit your first draft for mistakes in spelling, punctuation, capitalization and grammar.
