1 Very Important Information Please read and follow these directions The CRS T-Lok The CRS T-Lok takes the place of the traditional 3-point gimbal. When used correctly, the T-Lok makes the rifle scope s internal adjusting system withstand up to almost any amount of foot/pounds energy developed during the recoil cycle. To use correctly, the T-Lok must be unlocked before any adjustments are made to zero your scope using the windage and elevation adjustment dials. (Failure to unlock the mechanism before making adjustments can result in permanent damage to the erector tube voiding the warranty) Your scope should be shipped with the T-Lok in the unlocked position. It will take approximately 3 to 4 full clockwise rotations of the T-Lok adjustment cylinder to lock it in place.(very important do not over tighten the T-Lok adjustment cylinder. It only needs to be snug). Never force the T-locking mechanism past its stop. On the left hand side of the scope below the illumination rheostat you will find the T-Lok adjustment cylinder. Using a proper size Philips head screwdriver rotate the T-Lok adjustment cylinder clock wise to tighten or counter clock wise to loosen. From the locked position you should rotate the T-Lok adjustment cylinder approximately 3 to 4 full rotations counter clock wise (to unlock) before you make any adjustments to the windage and elevation adjustment dials. When you are sure the T-Lok is in the unlocked position, zero your scope in the normal fashion using the windage and elevation adjustment dials. When your scope is zeroed lock the T-Lok as described above. This scope in combination with the GPC M4-62 reticle is designed to allow you to adjust for windage and elevation by using the different aiming points build into the reticle. After your final zero is completed at the chosen distance, remember to lock the T-Lok mechanism. Locking the mechanism will not allow any relocation of the erector tube during the recoil cycle. If at any time you wish to make re-adjustments, unlock the T-Lok mechanism to change the adjustments and then relock the T-Lok mechanism when completed. GRSC P.O. 4 4 Objective The 1-4x24 CRS (Combat Rifle Scope) with its proprietary GPC M4-62 (patented No and B2) front focal reticle was designed to cover the full spectrum of combat from CQB distances to the maximum effective range of modern assault/battle rifles in day and low light tactical environments. The CRS features a dual purpose reticle. The #1 priority of the CRS is speed on target at CQB distances. This is accomplished by using the horseshoe portion of the reticle on 1 power with two eyes open. In this mode the CRS will perform like a red dot gun sight. For long range engagements or precision at any distances increase the magnification and use the aiming dots for maximum precision. The CRS is also compatible with the night vision systems such as the PVS 22 to allow for effective use in low light environments. Very Important When mounting the CRS do not over tighten the scope rings. Zeroing Very Important Make sure to follow the instructions on the T lock mechanism BEFORE you make any adjustments to the windage & elevation dials. 1. Adjust Scope to 4x. 2. Focus using rear ocular focus ring. 3. Rough 25 yds. Point of aim point of impact should be on the dot in the center of the 300 yard ranging circle (Second dot at bottom of horseshoe). 4. Move target to 100 yds. 5. Fine tune your zero at 100 yd. Point of aim point of impact at 100 yds. Should be on the first aiming dot in the center of the horseshoe. BDC Reticle Once zeroed this bullet drop compensating (BDC) reticle is designed to allow you to rapidly range and hit head size targets to at least 300 yds and chest size targets to at least 600 yds. The GPC M4-62 reticle is calibrated for the M4 Rifle (14.5 barrel) using M855 (62gr) ammo. Bullet Drop for M855 Ammo Yards Bullet Drop (inches)

5 BDC Reticle cont. If you use a different package (Rifle-Ammo) than the M4 with M855 (62gr) ammo you may need to modify your aiming points. Also note factors like temperature, humidity and elevation will affect your point of impact. The extra non specific aiming dots in this reticle are there to help you deal with variables. How to use the Retcile The Horseshoe: For CQB to two hundred yard speed shooting set the scope on low power. The horseshoe will be your aiming point. The reticle on this scope is on the front focal plane so the horseshoe will get smaller as you decrease the magnification. At low power the horseshoe will appear as a big dot (see picture below). 5

6 6 How to use the Reticle cont. The long range precision portion of the reticle will get very small and not be useable at low magnification. As the distance to your target increases the target will appear smaller and the horseshoe will now look like a circle on your target. At CQB to two hundred yards the horseshoe reticle performs as a big dot or circle type aiming point to increase your speed on target. The horseshoe is 4 MOA thick, 18 MOA wide (shoulder width at one-hundred yards). See picture below. CQB/Snap Shooting The number 1 priority of this scope/reticle is speed and accuracy during CQB engagements. To maximize CQB speed and accuracy set the scope to 1x and use with both eyes open. Turn on the illumination to the required brightness for low light environments. On low magnification you will find the horseshoe (HS) reticle works like a red dot gun site. The HS reticle is very fast for snapshots, on moving targets and out to 200 yds on chest size targets.

7 Illumination Very Important The most important thing to remember about the illumination system in this scope is that it can be seen from the front in low light conditions. Experiment with this and adjust your tactics accordingly. The illumination is not bright enough to be seen in bright sunlight. To compensate for this at close range you can increase the magnification to make the HS appear larger, therefore making it easier and faster to see and use. The CRS uses CR2032 lithium batteries. The illumination turret has 3 levels of brightness in both red and green. There is an off position between each illumination setting. There are two spare battery storage compartments in the windage and elevation turret caps. Ranging The Window: The hollow center of the horseshoe is called the window. The window of the horseshoe is 10 MOA (head size at 100 yds). With the proper zero your bullet will hit on or very near the center of the horseshoe from 75 to 250 yards. At CQB distances your bullet will impact below your 100 yds aiming dot (at CQB distance be aware of your required holdover). The Mil Dots: The 6 mil dots to the left and the right of the horseshoe serve as anti-canting guide lines and may also be used for ranging. Mil dots start at 4 mils from center of the horseshoe. How To Use The 10 Inch Ranging Circles: The hollow center of the horseshoe is called the window. The window is used for fast ranging on a man sized target at one, two and three hundred yards. It is 10 MOA. This equals ten inches at 100 yards (head size). 7

8 8 Ranging at 200 yards Twenty inches at 200 yards (approximate shoulder width). Half the window equals ten inches at 200 yards (head size). See picture below. Thirty inches at three hundred yards (approximately half a man s body length). Ranging Circles: As described above the window of the horseshoe is to be used as a ranging circle on a man s head at 100 yards. Half the window of the horseshoe will range a man s head at 200 yards.

9 Ranging at 300 and 400 yards The first ranging circle in the center of the lower horseshoe will range a man s head at 300 yards. See below. The ranging circles below the horseshoe to the left and right of the aiming dot labeled number 4 range a man s head at 400 yards. (See picture below). 9

10 10 Ranging at 500 yards The ranging circles below the horseshoe to the left and the right of the aiming dot labeled number 5 range a man s head at 500 yards. As the magnification of the scope is increased the aiming dots will clearly come into view. The aiming dots extend downward from the center of the window. (See picture on next page). The 1st dot is 1 MOA; it is your aiming point for precision shooting from 0 to 250 yards. The 2nd through 7th aiming dots are.5 MOA. The Aiming Dots The 2nd aiming dot inside the 300 yard ranging circle is.5 MOA. It is your aiming point at 300 yards. The 3rd dot is your aiming dot at four hundred yards. The 4th, 6th and 7th dots are non caliber specific aiming dots. The 5th dot is your aiming dot at 500 yards. (For engaging targets beyond 500 yds see pg. 12)

11 Horizontal Lead Lines Starting at 400 yds are horizontal lead lines and gaps to allow you to adjust your aiming point for a moving target or windy conditions. The horizontal lead lines and gaps between the horizontal lead lines allow you to lead a target in 10 inch increments at the given distance (approximate half frontal body width or approximate full body width sideways). The horizontal lines are 10 inches long at the given distance, the space between (gap) the horizontal lines is 10 inches at the given distance. Once you have determined the distance to your target using the ranging circles, follow the horizontal lead lines to the center aiming dot. This will be your aiming point for that distance (see picture below). This picture illustrates aiming at a mans throat at 500 yards. 11

13 Engaging Targets Beyond 600 Yards The ranging circles for 6, 7, and 8 hundred yards have been moved to the center line of the reticle. These ranging circles maintain the 10 inside diameter at the prescribed distance. Since it is not realistic to expect head shots at these distances, the most practical way to engage targets is to range on the targets head and then use the ranging circles as your aiming point center mass on the chest (if visible). You can also range on a mans shoulders at these distances by using the distance from the far edge of the ranging circle to the start of the horizontal lead line. This will equal 20 at the prescribed distance. The 1/2 MOA aiming dots between these ranging circles are non caliber specific aiming points. In Summary Advantages of the GRSC Combat Rifle Scope with the GPC M4-62 Reticle Most experienced shooters will agree the fastest reticles for CQB to midrange shooting situations are circle or dot type reticles. At low magnification the 4 MOA thick horseshoe of the M4-62 reticle provides the speed of a big dot for CQB, and a circle at midrange distances. Increasing the magnification provides a fast simple ranging system combined with precision aiming points out to at least 500 yards on a chest sized target. The illuminated reticle provides illumination for various shooting environments. The CRS will enhance the capabilities and lethality of our war fighters.
