1 HCPC - Software Instructions for SCANNER Set-up - Update HCPC software is only available for PC running Microsoft Windows. 2. Go to the resource center and download HCPC98V45.jpg file to your PC. Save as to your PC (typically desktop). a. If during the saving option you don t see the file extension.jpg you will have to change a few other settings on PC to rename file accordingly. b. Some computers will not show filename extension of.jpg. Press the Windows icon in and type Folder Options in the search bar. c. Folder Options can also be accessed from some PC s by using the explorer folder view and selecting Tools in the upper left toolbar, then options and click on Folder Options. d. In Folder Options, make sure that Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.

2 3. Once saved, we will change the file from a.jpg to an.exe file. 4. Right click on HCPC98V45.jpg and rename downloaded file to HCPC98V45.exe. Upon pressing enter a pop up window will occur confirming rename, press yes. 5. Based on operating system and security, select or right click and choose Run as administrator (Windows 7). 6. Load software - Once operation is installing you can click thru the prompts (yes and next). 7. Choose American (English) 8. Use the shortcut icon placed on desktop or from start window. Right click on the icon to Open HCPC 98. Some computers will require operation to be Run as administrator or file locations could be hidden from view. Please note that opening the program as Open or as Run as administrator will direct recipe files to two different locations and they cannot be viewed at the same time. It is recommended to only use Run as administrator every time HCPC software is used to be consistent and ensure complete operation capability. 9. Type set-up password (HCPC0498) You can always access this setup again by typing original password 10. Then change password to Hobart 11. Uncheck boxes on right and make sure F is selected.

3 12. After pressing OK, the standard login screen appears with new password already typed. The controller name is used if multiple persons have access to software and recipe management. It will mark the person s name next to any modification of recipes and other HACCP information. Typically this is left as Hobart. 13. This screen is only displayed for when the barcode scanner option SCAN-1 is used. During set-up, you will need to change a few settings to use just the recipe software. 14. Change the language to English (US). 15. Click on Program button next to the red man exit button. The Program button looks like the recipe book icon.

4 16. A new window opens called Collection of Recipes. 17. Click on New and Collection to create a new folder. You can also right click in the empty columns under Collection of Recipes. 18. New Collection is a new folder in which you will name (just like a file folder). You can t use wildcard characters (&, /,! or? Etc ). If it is forbidden by Windows Explorer filename then it will be the same in HCPC program. 19. My Recipes folder is now shown. Name the folder any name you desire and it will display accordingly. 20. You can right click on the folder and add new programs or choose the new on the left side of the screen and choose program. Program will allow a cooking setting to be created.

5 21. When editing or creating a recipe program. You can change the Program N number and the Name at anytime. All other settings are done just like if you were pushing the buttons on the actual combi. Choose cook modes and settings.

6 22. Press OK tab on bottom right corner when cooking settings are completed. Pressing the program icon in the control panel will also exit the screen and go back to collection of recipes main page. 23. Continue steps to add more cooking settings for up to 100 programs per individual folder. 24. Printing recipes with barcodes can be done individually when on step 17, or by choosing the Print option so all recipes will be printed for the folder that is open. 25. Press Collection of recipes for printing recipes or Wash program for washing page. 26. Press Export to send file to someone else in original HCPC format or directly to the combi using short-range wireless technology. Press Import to locate same folder where recipes are stored. 27. Depending on Windows software and settings, the HCPC 98 folder with PROG location may be found in either of these locations. A shortcut is to press Import as the exact location will be pulled open automatically.
