Baltutis Editor Enr: 60 Resp: 45 Retake: 88% O'Connor: Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Baltutis: Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Course: Workload Difficulty Learn Exp This was a great course that was well-organized and informative. Students enjoyed this course very much, but they commented that there was a heavy reading load. O'Connor was an excellent and very enthusiastic instructor who lectured well. He was also very helpful when students needed help. Baltutis was also an amazing instructor who was enthusiastic and lectured well. The lectures were very interesting, and he was always willing to help the students with questions and was very understanding. SMC 141Y1Y Introduction to the Irish Language Instructor(s): J. She was able to engage her students into the material. Many said they preferred her lectures to the guest lecturers. A few students suggested presenting lectures in chronological order would lessen confusion and better the learning experience. Some said the course was a bit heavy on the religion aspect and this was unexpected. SMC 203Y1Y Christianity Encounters the Secular World Instructor(s): J. Pagliaroli Enr: 49 Resp: 37 Retake: 84% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students found Pagliaroli a great instructor. He was clear, informative, and enthusiastic. Students enjoyed this course very much. SMC 208Y1Y Major Christian Thinkers Instructor(s): D. Donovan Enr: 40 Resp: 30 Retake: 89% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students really enjoyed taking this course. Donovan was an amazing instructor who was passionate, knowledgeable and caring. The course material itself was also very interesting and Donovan's enthusiasm also helped. Goering Enr: 52 Resp: 36 Retake: 88% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp This course was very interesting for many students. They liked the course material as well as the readings. However, some students found that the class lacked structure and it was somewhat unorganized. Goering was an enthusiastic instructor who made the class enjoyable. SMC 215H1F Varieties of Christian Community Instructor(s): G. SMC 217H1S Literature and the Christian Child Instructor(s): M. O'Connor Enr: 69 Resp: 35 Retake: 91% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students enjoyed this course, but found that there was a lot of readings. In addition, some students thought that the instructor did not discuss the material deep enough because there was so much material to go through. Guardiani Enr: 174 Resp: 53 Retake: 69% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students felt that, overall, the lectures simply consisted of the instructor reiterating what was in the readings and not going any further. They suggested that slides should be included in lectures. Although Guardiani was knowledgeable, students expected more from this course. SMC 222H1F Mediaeval Latin I Instructor(s): A. Dickens Enr: 126 Resp: 46 Retake: 69% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students generally seemed to enjoy the course material and instructor. Students gave mixed reviews about the general performance of the instructor. While some felt that her lecturing style was dull, and boring with a high propensity to gear off topic. Others really enjoyed her enthusiasm, and obvious knowledge base in the material. SMC 229H1S Readers and Readerships Instructor(s): E. Dickens Enr: 127 Resp: 39 Retake: 51% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Dickens was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor, but students found the 3-hour lectures too long. Students commented that there was not enough content to fill the 3 hours, and because of this, it seemed that the lectured dragged on and became dry. A few others found Dickens to be a great instructor who was wellorganized and gave out interesting assignments. SMC 240Y1Y Celtic Cultures Though the Ages Instructor(s): A. Dooley Enr: 36 Resp: 32 Retake: 89% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Dooley was an amazing instructor who was extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. She truly cared about her students. The only concern for some students was that the assignments were returned late.

McIntyre Enr: 30 Resp: 25 Retake: 64% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Some students thought McIntyre was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and exposed them to different viewpoints. However, others felt that "she did not practice what she preached" and wished that she was more openminded to the issues. SMC 272H1F Child and Adolescent Development in Education Instructor(s): L. Dack Enr: 31 Resp: 31 Retake: 93% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students really enjoyed Dack's lecturing style. They found her to be very organized and enthusiastic. Students especially appreciated the use of her daughter's videos as a teaching too. SMC 305H1S Christianity and Popular Culture Instructor(s): J. Harris was an excellent instructor who was knowledgeable, engaging and very enthusiastic. Her classes had very interesting topics with good media examples. Students appreciated the variety of options for assignments. Have weekly readings and blog assignments was a little too much work for some students. Overall, an outstanding course that was very well-organized. SMC 312H1S Catholicism and Education Instructor(s): G. Silano Enr: 61 Resp: 35 Retake: 85% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Silano was a great instructor who was very knowledgeable. The course itself was also very interesting, with thought provoking ideas from the instructor. SMC 313H1F Catholic Education in Ontario Instructor(s): M. McGowan Enr: 47 Resp: 31 Retake: 89% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students really liked McGowan. They appreciated his enthusiasm and obvious passion for the subject material. He organized lectures well and presented them with clarity. SMC 314H1F Media Revolutions Instructor(s): J. Pilon Enr: 45 Resp: 41 Retake: 67% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp It seemed that the lecture material was very interesting to some and very boring to others depending on their interest in the subject matter. Some found the studying of typography/fonts surprisingly interesting. Pilon was said to have been organized and with a lot of knowledge about the course material. He presented material efficiently and used different teaching tools to make concepts clear. SMC 315H1F The Newspaper in Canadian Society Instructor(s): M. Students liked his personal experiences from his career, and appreciated his use of field trips and guest lecturers as teaching tools. The information he presented in class was very practical and relevant. Some students said they would have liked some more details on what was expected of them in the assignments. Fay Enr: 28 Resp: 19 Retake: 68% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students appreciated that Fay posted lecture slides online before class. He was an enthusiastic and passionate instructor. Students said while they found the course information interesting, a few found the weekly assignments "tedious". He made classes enjoyable. Some students said they had difficulty finding the reading material and as such felt the course could be better organized. However, students suggested that work should have been graded faster. Overall, a very good course. SMC 340H1F Modern Gaelic Literature 1800 to Present Instructor(s): M. Nic Dhiarmada Enr: 14 Resp: 11 Retake: 100% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students found the instructor enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She was willing to help students when needed and presented interesting lectures. SMC 344Y1F Celtic Archaeology Instructor(s): K. Students said they learnt critical thinking skills and the material was interesting. Ahronson was liked by his students for his enthusiasm and passionate teaching. Wilson delivered his material with great enthusiasm and kept the students engaged. He was very approachable and was always available for help when students needed it. Students enjoyed and appreciated his enthusiasm and interesting course material. SMC 351H1F The Blasket Island Writings Instructor(s): M. O'Connor Enr: 24 Resp: 18 Retake: 88% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students enjoyed the opportunity to watch films and relate it to the course material and class discussion. As such a few students said they would have liked to watch more films. O'Connor was well-liked for her enthusiasm and obvious knowledge about the material. Students found her feedback on assignments very helpful. SMC 357H1S The Mediaeval Child Instructor(s): G. Dinkova-Bruun Enr: 38 Resp: 29 Retake: 89% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp An enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor who made the class fun and informative. Students also enjoyed the final project. SMC 358H1F The Mediaeval Book Instructor(s): G. Dinkova-Bruun Enr: 35 Resp: 30 Retake: 78% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students enjoyed the course material but a few of them felt that the readings were a bit heavy. Dinkova-Bruun was well-liked by students for her passion for the material and her approachability. SMC 359H1S Mediaeval Theology Instructor(s): J. Goering Enr: 50 Resp: 29 Retake: 96% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Although this class went through challenging material, students appreciated his lecturing style. He was extremely intellectual and passionate. He made the course exciting and students learned a lot. SMC 360H1F Vernacular Literature of the Middle Ages Instructor(s): A. Bolintineanu Enr: 18 Resp: 14 Retake: 100% Presents Explains Communicates Teaching Workload Difficulty Learn Exp Students used words like "amazing", "wonderful" and "excellent" to describe their experience in this class. Bolintineanu was an enthusiastic and extremely engaging lecturer. She gave great lectures and brought energy and dedication to the classroom. Students enjoyed the course material and seemed to really love going to class. SMC 361H1F Mediaeval Law Instructor(s): G. However, students seemed to not enjoy the discussion based learning experience. They said that they would much rather have more organized lectures from the instructor.

Although her classes were a bit unorganized, students still enjoyed her lectures and appreciated the fact that she was very approachable. He was friendly and was able to present the ideas of the course clearly to his students. Students found the course material interesting and enjoyable.
