1 Coromandel Mussel Kitchen - Wedding Packet - Congratulations and thank you for considering The Mussel Kitchen to host your wedding. The Mussel Kitchen is a country style private setting, situated on 10 acres of land 3km south of Coromandel Town. It has views of the Coromandel Harbour with stunning summer sunsets. The Mussel Kitchen has a small indoor area opening out to a covered veranda and garden bar area with outdoor tables and sun umbrellas. With only a select number of weddings each year, we specialise in all-inclusive catering for guests offering a down to earth friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Mussel Kitchen garden and grounds offers the flexibility of having your wedding ceremony and reception at the venue. We can comfortably seat 60 people inside and around the veranda for smaller weddings. We can seat up to 150 people in the garden bar area, this is an uncovered area and can fit a stretch tent as an option. We also have another large lawn as an option to the side of the garden bar, which if set up with marquee or stretch tent we can cater up to 180 people. The Mussel Kitchen offers cafe tables/chairs and picnic tables for seating, any other tables, chairs, marquee, linen for a wedding will need to be organised and hired by the wedding party. We offer a venue for a more relaxed style of wedding with your choice of continuous canapés or buffet. We also have our own craft beer that is brewed on site, MK Brewing Co. 2 Minimum Spend and Costs: Up to 100 Guests Terms and Conditions The Mussel Kitchen offers you a private, relaxed and fun location for your wedding and our responsibility is to offer you a wedding that gives you a stress free and enjoyable day. A venue fee of $2,000 includes a ceremony and reception location, staff, service, cleaning and reception equipment as stated on the venue hire page for up to 100 guests. A minimum spend of $12,000 applies for the event. This includes the venue fee of $2,000 for up to 100 guests. The minimum spend is calculated from food and beverage consumed on the day, please see our menu for pricing. 3 Wet Weather Rain is supposed to be a sign of good luck on a wedding day! The Mussel Kitchen only has enough room to comfortably seat and serve 60 guests out of the wet weather. If you have concerns about weather being a big impact on your wedding day, we do suggest that you plan to hire a marquee or stretch tent. Noise It will be at The Mussel Kitchen staff discretion to control the volume of music if needed. Premise License As a venue, we provide wedding exclusivity for the day of your event between 8am and midnight, however, our license requires that music and alcohol service is to be finished by 11.00pm with guests vacating by midnight. We are happy to hold things for you securely overnight after your event but we ask that all decorations, gifts, and any lost property are removed by 10am the next morning. Any extra cost for additional equipment (i.e. marquee, seating, tables, linen etc...) will be paid for by the wedding party. Should you not reach the minimum spend on the night, then the difference will be given to you in your choice of MK Brewing Co. beer, wine and/or The Mussel Kitchen gift vouchers. Our staff are here to help. They are happy to help out with other things you may require. Ceremonies/receptions must begin after 4pm on your wedding day and we provide a rough outline of how proceedings usually run, however, you may customise your timeline and we ask you provide us with a copy or the completed run sheet prior to your big day.
4 Left Over Policy It is our responsibility to ensure you are well catered for and so we may choose to over cater to be on the safe side. For this reason it is the policy of The Mussel Kitchen that all left over catering remains with us. Deposit The deposit, equal to the venue fee will need to be paid 3 months in advance from the wedding day. If in the unfortunate circumstance that wedding is cancelled outside 1 month but inside 3 months of the wedding then 50% of the deposit will be refunded. If cancellation is within 1 month of the wedding date then 0% of the deposit will be refunded.
5 Venue Hire Our venue is available for hire from the third weekend in September through to the second weekend in December and then the week following Waitangi in February through to the end of April. With Labour weekend, Easter weekend and Anzac day being excluded. These dates may vary slightly sometimes. Venue Fee: 8am-12am $2,000 up to 100 guests minimum spend $12,000 (venue fee incl.) 8am-12am $3, guests minimum spend of $15,000 (venue fee incl.) Venue Hire Includes: Wedding exclusivity, venue available for set up from 8am on the day of the wedding Ceremony and reception location (4pm-12am) Service Staff Crockery, cutlery and glassware Cake table with knife Present Table Complimentary tea and coffee Indoor/outdoor reception sound system for background music Stage for live music Liquor license up to 11pm
