11 11 Mathematical Studies Builds on skills established at International GCSE. Designed to maintain and develop real-life mathematical skills and support other A Level subjects. Aimed at students who have attained a Grade C or above at International GCSE. Is equivalent to an AS Level and is delivered over two years on 3 lessons per week. Assessment: Two 90 minute papers taken at the end of Year 13. Paper 1 Analysis of Data, Personal Finance, Estimation, Critical Analysis. Paper 2 Statistical Techniques.

14 14 How are the Option Blocks decided? The students give their preferences. The blocks are then made to give the best fit for the cohort of students and to keep the blocks balanced. The students then choose from the blocks.

17 17 Timeline Preference Form hand back to Tutor by: Wednesday 14 th December Option blocks best fit for cohort out to students by: Tuesday 7 th February Option choices made and returned to Tutor by: Wednesday 5 th April Review of choices following the results of the I/GCSE exams at the beginning of Year 12

18 18 Report Target Grades( I/GCSE) Minimum expectations of student performance Students should be aiming to exceed Target Grades Average GCSE score is a very good predictor of A-Level success. (A* = 8, A = 7,..)
