3 ENGLISH SKILLS ENTRY LEVEL ONE COURSE TIMETABLE 12 Weeks 2 days per week 9.30am 3.00pm (Evening 6.00pm 9.00pm) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Completed an Initial Assessment & IAG with ELATT QUALIFICATIONS Units from Edexcel or OCR at Entry Level 1 OR Units from City and Guilds English Skills Entry Level 1 OR Units from OCR Functional Skills entry Level 1 COURSE CONTENT Functional English language to make appointments, go shopping, use public transport in London Communicate with your child s school Start creating a CV for work English to help you make friends and be part of your London community You will also participate in community activities SOFT SKILLS Communication (English/literacy) Employability Working with others Organisation and planning Problem solving

4 ENGLISH SKILLS ENTRY LEVEL TWO COURSE TIMETABLE 12 Weeks 2 days per week 9.30am 3.00pm (Evening 6.00pm 9.00pm) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Completed an Initial Assessment & IAG with ELATT QUALIFICATIONS Units from Edexcel or OCR at Entry Level 2 OR Units from City and Guilds English Skills Entry Level 2 OR OCR Functional Skills Entry Level 2 COURSE CONTENT English language to make relationships with your neighbours and community English to help you start planning for your future goals; English for conversations The UK public transport systems Other forms of shopping Accessing services Getting a job in the UK including rights and responsibilities Telling your story English for conversations Using a computer for , typing a CV and doing job search English to help manage your money and bills better You will also participate in community activities, and if it s what you want, a volunteer work placement or a work placement SOFT SKILLS Communication (English/literacy) Employability Working with others Problem solving Organisation and planning

Applying for work in the UK including making applications for volunteer work placements Planning events Making complaints as a customer and your consumer rights Writing personal statements for further study Rights and responsibilities as resident including learning about the political system of the UK Methods of money management and where to get advice on money issues if necessary You will also participate in community activities, and if it s what you want, a volunteer work position or a work placement SOFT SKILLS Communication Employability Working with others Problem solving Organisation and planning
