1 SELENIUM Selenium is a portable software testing framework for web applications. Selenium is an Open source Automation Testing Tool which is used to test the functionality of the application under test. There are 3 components in Selenium: Selenium IDE Selenium Remote Control (RC) Selenium Web Driver Selenium IDE It is a complete integrated development environment (IDE) for generating and executing Selenium tests. It is implemented as a Firefox extension, and allows recording, editing, and debugging tests. The core part of Selenium IDE is based on JavaScript & also supports different extension in it. Scripts are recorded in Selenese, a special test scripting language for Selenium. Selenese provides commands for performing actions in a browser (click a link, select an option), and for retrieving data from the resulting pages. The main limitation of Selenium IDE is that, it is supported by Firefox browser alone.
