2 Current Situation & History in Brief: January 2014 to date. Senior Drupal Developer: Hobson CRM and Personalisation integration. University of Surrey: Creating a web service integration system between Hobson CRM and Drupal. The system enables the University to offer personalised experience, content delivery and single sign on to Hobson (CRM) and Drupal. The system is built extensively on Drupal Entity API and Hobsons Connect API, ensuring that every aspect of Data protection and security is maintained whilst providing the visitor as seamless and personalised visit. October January Senior Drupal Developer: Pfizer HCP Portal Work with small team in delivery of Pfizer s global Health Care Professional portal. The portal is based on Drupal 7 distribution Panopoloy, which involves the creation of Panels, modules, views, features, with performance techniques and caching. The portal is fully multi lingual, and caters for bi-directional languages, and full translatable intface for all language types. Designed to deliver personalised content and to create micro sites which are dedicated and tailored on visitor profile and classification metrics to provide tagged content so the visitor always has an informed and rich experience. Solr search with combined Facet metrics and relevant and related content lists to provide fast track routes to specific content. October 2012 to September 2013 Solutions Architect: Comic Relief and Sport Relief. Overall responsibility for the design of infrastructure, websites, software including Drupal and PhP Frameworks and applications for comicrelief.com and the campaign sites to support Comic Relief 2013 and Sport Relief The core websites are a mix of Drupal 6 and 7, and interface into hi-performance gateways and PayPal. The key challenge is the integration of disparate technologies, (Drupal, Zend Java, Oracle, Data Warehouse) into a high preformat, zero-failure system to process extreme number of transactions. Working in partnership with Acquia and Amazon Rednoseday.com (Comic Relief s campaign site for 2013) we created the first fully responsive and adaptive HTML5 CSS3 campaign site capable of supporting the extreme traffic campaigns generate. 3 The multiple hosting environments engaged to provide a fully resilient system, with Drupal (front end web) being at Acquia / Amazon and PhP Frameworks and transaction processing at Carrenza with drop-back to Amazon. This stack enabled Comic Relief to process in real time, have no requirement for an asynchronous queue (Java) application. Acquia Amazon Carrenza We created a fully functional drop back light weight website, I believe a first for Acquia, which provided the capability of maintaining donations whilst reducing network bandwidth during extreme demand. The prime concept of the design was to utilise a best practice approach focused on business requirement, and to have zero down time, whilst providing visitors with a feature rich experience on any device. Architect and Lead Developer BBC Worldwide The BBC have a requirement to monetise their digital assets. I worked on the design concept of using Drupal to provide a multisite solution to support and promote the business requirement. The design focuses on a common core approach (Drupal s Domain Access project and Omega / display suite) to enable sites to be styled and deployed rapidly. A key challenge is the migration of legacy content and data into Drupal content and entities. A major site (Goodfood) is representative, with a complex data structure to support recipes. The requirement is to provide a matrix of recipe, ingredient, food type, supporting assets (Video etc). Drupal s entity API provides a versatile approach that can be scaled with CDN NginX Varnish etc. Drupal Architect, Drupal Lead Developer (January 2012 to June 2012) One Young World & HRH The Duke of York: One Young World: Create a new Drupal website which will replace the current.net site. The new site incorporates a bespoke Events and Summits application to meet the clients specific requirements. The application encompasses E- commerce, multi-currency and multi-lingual functionality. Built with CI and TDD techniques the application enables Events registration, corporate and individual sponsorship and a E-Commerce payment systems. My responsibilities include Drupal architecture, module selection and configuration, writing the in-house Events and registration systems and payment gateways, and theming. Additionally mentoring and guiding the in-house team enabling them to provide on-going support and enhancements. HRH The Duke of York: Architect, Design and build a Drupal 7 site which will replace the Duke s current website. The site incorporates multi-media, social networking and feeds. Built with TDD (test driven development) and structured deployment the site incorporates a number of D7 features including Omega a HTML5 CSS 3 grid themeing engine for mobile devices. Systems Architect, Drupal Lead Developer (August 2011 to January 2012) Care Quality Commission: Design and build systems integration, incorporating both low level data interchange between Drupal and a number of external and legacy systems, and create a single sign-on and user authentication between Drupal and other internal websites utilising OpenSSO and OpenAM. The integrated web experience provides a single, homogonous website which is a collation of specific websites running a number of disparate technologies The application creates a link between CQC s data warehouse and the new online registration and compliance system. The system enables all providers of Care, NHS, Care homes, GP Surgeries,Dentist etc to fulfil their statutory and regulatory requirements via

4 the websites and fully on-line. The initial scheme launched in December 2011 and has already proven to be a success with users. Systems Architect, Drupal Lead (Jan 2011 to August 2011) CMC Markets: Drupal lead, Head of Drupal Development at CMC Markets and responsible for Drupal infrastructure and Architecture. Creating websites, modules, themes and UX across 27 regions world wide predominately based on PressFlow with Varnish. Adding scalability and security layers within a multi -server / multi data centre infrastructure, Deploying Pressflow with mod_security, Varnish, Memcache, APC and SQL and data performance tuning. History in Brief: Open University: Previously (Jan 2009 January 2011) Designing and writing Drupal Modules, themes and website deployment tools for the Open University. The modules range from high-end Documentum integration to social networking, profiles and data shares. The sites are based on Drupal s CCK and Views and incorporate and range of Bespoke and contributed modules (some examples) Google Maps (GMAP) video and image handling and (IMAGE, EMBEDDED MEDIA) Documentum integration (EDRM). Prior to the OU I developed a rapid deployment and management system for Drupal, Wordpress and Symfony content managed sites. The system is the backbone of a domains focused on social networking and niche interest. The deployment encompasses approximately 30 Drupal / Pressflow sites world wide in a range of languages and timezones. The deployment includes hi-traffic sites with large amounts of external data being exposed and with associated elements such as news, trading hours etc. Liaising and advising sys-admin team with infrastructure and implementation of vertical and horizontal scalability with Varnish and Memcache. The infrastructure is multi-centred with 100% resilience. Deployment and management of security mechanisms, (with the sys-admin team) to ensure the sites are fully protected. Database management, performance tuning and ongoing data handling appraisal with site performance reviews. The development of Modules and Themes to augment contributed models and Drupal core as required. January 2009 January 2011 (I continue to give the OU assistance in agreement with CMC ) The Open University: Drupal installation and deployment. Working with the Open University on a number of projects for both public facing web sites, and internal intranet application. Creating Drupal sites, and writing Drupal themes and Drupal modules to create a structure of sites and application which form the basis which can be replicated / duplicated to deliver highly functional CMS sites for the OU, its faculties, and internal management. The sites include Platform (the Open Universities Alumni and Student social networking site ( HR Intranet, MethaneNet, Business School etc. Integration of Documentum into Drupal, enbling the University to publish documents directly into web sites (EDRM Module). The sites utilise Drupal s CCK and Views and are extended with purpose built modules and themes as required. August 2008 January 2009 Orange Brand Intranet Site: PHP CMS delivering full digital asset management for Orange and its partners. The site enables Orange employees, and affiliated partner s access to the brands digital assets including: Media Assets (video podcast, radio advertising etc) Office Assets (print media, pdf, manuals, technical data sheets) Compressed packs (zipped and multi-compress files containing a pack of assets related to specific campaigns and function)

6 The main deliverables where to enable full featured searching of assets and meta data. The site functionality incorporates full soundex functionality (Soundex is a phonetic algorithm for indexing names by sound, as pronounced in its native language). A My Stuff personal catalogue of assets and favourites, which is sharable and publishable. A single point delivery system, which play / render the assets within a single deliver device (DashPlayer).
