1 Develpment Officer Overview - BWF The Badmintn Wrld Federatin (BWF) is the wrld gverning bdy fr the sprt and has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Wrking clsely with its Member Assciatins and the five Cntinental Cnfederatins fr badmintn, the BWF prmtes, presents, develps, and regulates the sprt wrldwide. Badmintn has been an Olympic Games sprt since the Barcelna Olympic Games in The BWF has 174 Members, 168 f these are natinal badmintn federatins respnsible fr regulating and develping the badmintn in their cuntry. The BWF Cuncil is respnsible fr prviding plicy and administrative guidance t the Executive Bard wh versees the day t day peratins f the Federatin. The Cuncil is appinted by the Annual General Meeting fr a fur year term. The Chief Operating Officer (COO), respnsible fr day t day peratins, is accuntable t the Executive Bard and Cuncil. The Develpment Officer is respnsible fr mnitring and recrding the implementatin f Shuttle Time Schls Badmintn Prjects, the delivery f Cach Educatin curses, assisting with the feedback and reprting n ther develpment prjects and assisting with the preparatin f infrmatin fr reprting. The Develpment Officer may frm time t time assist in the delivery and implementatin f develpment prjects and this may invlve travel and field wrk fr the implementatin f curses. Undertaking day t day administrative tasks f the Develpment Department. This includes the fllwing: Cmmunicating with Cntinental Cnfederatins / BWF Members and prviding infrmatin n develpment prjects, initiatives and activities f the Develpment Department; Liaising with stakehlders n specific develpment prjects; Reviewing f prject plans, budgets and reprts; Gathering infrmatin / data n develpment prjects; Gathering infrmatin n specific develpment target grups t help draft develpment prject plans; Preparing reprts, presentatins, cnference papers; Supprting the implementatin f surveys / questinnaires and analyse infrmatin and prduce reprts n survey data t assist in identifying develpment needs; Archiving f develpment resurces, materials and reprts. 2. Supprting the administratin f the implementatin f tw key prjects Schls Badmintn and Cach Educatin. This includes the fllwing: Dealing with enquiries abut schls badmintn / cach educatin; Assisting the further develpment f resurces fr Schls Badmintn / Cach Educatin; Crdinating the translatins f resurces int ther languages; Recruitment - BWF Develpment Officer Page : 2
3 Develpment Officer Assisting with the tracking f the implementatin f pilt prjects and natinal implementatin f Shuttle Time Schls Badmintn liaisn with the Natinal Crdinatrs ensuring BWF receives reprts and statistics abut the implementatin; Supprting the implementatin f prjects fr Cach Educatin and Schls Badmintn; Liaising with equipment manufacturers / suppliers regarding distributin f equipment t prjects / regins / Members implementing Schls Badmintn prjects; Assisting with the crdinatin / administratin and at times the delivery f prjects in regins where this is required; Supprting the preparatin f data fr reprting t Cmmittees / Cuncil in these areas - Schls and Cach educatin. Investigating the pssibilities f incrprating Shuttle Time int schls / university and internatinal schl curriculum. 3. Supprting the planning / implementatin and dcumentatin f ther develpment prjects. This may include the fllwing tasks: Defining the needs and the scpe f the prjects with thers; Assisting with the planning f prjects; Assisting with the budgeting f the prjects; Liaising with prject crdinatrs; Reprting n the plans. 4. Other Other duties as assigned and agreed Selectin Criteria The key criteria belw will be used as a basis fr shrt listing candidates fr the interview phase. Has a very gd understanding f badmintn being a cach r trainer in badmintn wuld be an advantage fr this rle. c) Persnal Attributes 1. Able t wrk independently with minimal supervisin n assigned tasks / prjects; Remuneratin Negtiated with the successful candidate depending n qualificatins and experience. Cntract A cntract with a three mnth prbatinary perid will be ffered t the successful candidate. Appraisals cnducted annually. Hurs f Wrk The psitin is cntracted and full time 40 hurs a week. The nature f the wrk smetimes requires flexibility during busy perids particularly in the lead up t and during Develpment Cmmittee / Cuncil and Cntinental Cnfederatin meetings.
