That s why our focus is on building a Greater Atlanta where every individual and family can thrive by making sure that every child has the opportunity to reach his or her potential. 985 (North) Communities that can say, all the children are well have 20 babies who are born healthy; kids who read proficiently by 3rd grade; teens graduating from high school prepared for college, careers and life; they grow up in secure homes, (South) in safe neighborhoods, with healthy food, access to medical care to keep them healthy; supported by 85 communities where people are educated, employed, and housed; 75 with ready access to good healthcare and affordable healthy foods. 1,280,411 children live in the region. 202,554 children (15.8%) live in communities with very low Child Well-Being 264,888 children (20.6%) live in communities with low Child Overall Score 58.9 Well-Being Child Family Community Score Score Score

The Child Well- Being Index is a measurement tool that aggregates the most recent data available from all three dimensions. Metro Atlanta Speaks is an annual public opinion survey that helps us understand how people feel about quality of life. By partnering with the Atlanta Regional Commission, we have a better understanding of priority issues and community involvement. United Way of and Partner Agencies Role The work of United Way and its Partners is to draw together and align the efforts of people and organizations like you who, collectively have the capabilities to drive significant positive change. United Way also directs the dollars from its Impact Fund (dollars given to vs. through United Way) and deploys the power of its 20,000 volunteers toward programs and organizations that work to ensure that all the children all well.
