7 Motivation to implement a Solar Fuel Saver system / kwh The price for PV systems has decreased by more than 60% in the last 3 years Fuel costs for diesel generators are constantly rising Today Time Especially interesting for gensets in continuous power applications In many countries, PV-Diesel Systems present an economically viable solution, already today. This effect will even increase in the next years.

9 Definition The Solar Fuel Saver is a controller allowing the direct integration of photovoltaic power plants into fossil fuel powered mini-grids. Specifications: Solar power is directly fed into the diesel generator mini-grid No batteries are needed Reduction of fuel consumption thanks to solar energy The SFS controller manages the solar power output according to the operation of the diesel generator

12 Functionality of the SFS The solar power reduces the power generated by the diesel generator. As soon as the generator reaches critical partial load operation, the SFS controller decreases the power output of the solar plant.

13 Technical features The Solar Fuel Saver can be integrated into existing or new diesel generator grids. It operates with all standard generators (isochronous or droop controlled). By regulating the solar power output, the SFS controller guarantees an optimized operation of the diesel generator Protection against min. partial load Reverse power protection Flexible reactive power controlling Additional control options of the diesel generator: time based, partial load Integrated data logging of system performance Remote monitoring via internet (optional via GSM) Simple installation (plug and play)
