1 UNIT 4 Superstitions! 1 Read the text about superstitions. What do you believe? Hironobu Akira Renata Andrade Luis Ferreras In Japan there are a lot of superstitions. For example, white snakes bring you good luck. People say that if you find a white snake, you will be lucky in life. Some people even put up a picture of a white snake on their living room wall. I have never seen a white snake. They are very rare. In Brazil, people drink a lot of coffee it s a very important drink here! In houses and work places, there is almost always coffee ready for you to drink. And most people put sugar in their coffee. We have a superstition that if you always put the sugar into your cup before you put the coffee in, you will become rich. I m not sure if that s true I m Brazilian but I don t drink coffee! There are lots of superstitions in Spain. In Salamanca, the city where I live, there is a famous university. Near one of the doors of the university there is a frog on the wall.
