2 THE ROLE Job title Job Overview Business Development Manager, UK and Ireland This role is key in implementing Sannam S4 s business development / sales strategy in the UK. Day to day responsibilities are to drive business development and sales activity on the ground in the UK targeting businesses, membership bodies and non profits in achieving their internationalisation objectives. While Sannam S4 s has historically been focused on India, China and Brazil, recently developed Strategic Partnerships mean that Sannam S4 is now able to deliver a range of services in an expanded network of territories, including USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Poland Myanmar, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, Colombia and the UAE. As a market entry solutions provider, if there are requests for additional markets outside these, we are also willing to leverage our international contacts to try and facilitate service delivery further afield. Responsibilities Sannam S4 s clients are primarily looking to develop exporting opportunities to these markets. They require help with market research, identifying distributors, hiring local staff and managing HR compliance, setting up a local office and having support on establishing a local legal entity and managing the day to day finance and accounting, tax and compliance requirements in these markets. These are all services which Sannam S4 offers through the markets listed above. Clients work with Sannam S4 because of our reputation for a high quality service, which is why we proudly serve some of the world s best businesses and institutions. With the focus on generating new business selling the services above, specific responsibilities for the role include: 2
3 v Build and manage an active pipeline with momentum o Identify British companies with interest in new commercial relationships to facilitate cross- border business partnerships o Conceptualise and implement (with support from Sannam S4 s marketing team) campaigns to identify organisations that require support with their internationalisation plans o Conceptualise and implement (along with relevant country sector teams) trade activation events v Complete effective qualification of potential leads. Nurture prospects and drive the sales process to achieve defined business develop / sales target (using Sannam S4 s standard pipeline process) v Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients v Materially drive the re- positioning of Sannam S4 s brand in the UK to reflect: o The ability to support organisations in a materially enlarged group of countries o A strong focus on corporate (we have done lots of corporate work historically but are perhaps more recognised for our work in Education) v Organising Sannam S4 s own events, webinars and marketing outreach campaigns (supported by Sannam S4 s in- house marketing team) v Act as ambassador for Sannam S4 on 1:1 basis, at industry events, with market stakeholders etc. v Listening to feedback from clients, prospects and market stakeholders to help refine Sannam S4 s offer to the market v Keeps salesforce.com up to date at all time. Engaging in regular client contact to maintain a clear understanding of their ongoing needs, their successes and challenges. 3
4 Experience and personal qualities This role will be supported by Sannam S4 s marketing team. Liaison with Sannam S4 s service teams and wider partner country teams will be also be important. v Bachelors degree or above v First hand experience at working in an international trade environment either for a consulting group or in a role which has provided first hand experience of working cross border; at least 5 years of hands on experience. This need not be in a sales role but could include finance role, export manager, responsible for international expansion of a company etc. but it must be recognised that this role is sales focused v First hand experience of developing new business or creating and converting new opportunities required v First hand experience at working extensively with one of Sannam S4 s core markets (experience in China, USA, India, Mexico being a preference). v Experience of working in a number of sectors valuable. Preferably particularly depth of expertise in Food & Beverage, Advanced Engineering, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Digital / IT v Strong commercial awareness. Proven track record in delivering success v Required attributes: o Highly responsive o Willing to go the extra mile o Sees the big picture o Detail oriented o Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal o Strong leadership ability to lead conversations with clients and co- ordinate across cross border teams o Ability to collaborate / partnering o Highly focused on achieving commercial outcomes o Committed to making a major positive contribution to the company s aims and ambitions 4
