15 Pumped Storage Plants WV Energie AG works on the development of two pumped-storage hydropower stations in Germany and a bordering country. Pumped-storage hydropower stations have a upper and a lower water reservoir. During off-peak hours, water gets pumped from the lower to the upper reservoir. During peak-load periods, the masonry dam is opened. The flowing water drives power generators in the plant which create the needed electricty.. Quelle: DNA 15
