1 Import/ s for Seed Canadian Seed Trade Association International Committee Effective January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011
2 Seed Trade Import/ s The following list import and export codes is provided for the easy reference CSTA International Committee members. Import codes are to be used for all products being brought. codes are to be used to identify products being exported, with the exception to U.S. In some cases, similar products may have the same export codes, but different import codes. This is correct as some export classifications have not been broken out by Statistics Canada. All products being exported to the U.S. should be identified with the relevant code from the column. In some cases, U.S. classifications vary slightly from the Canadian ones. Only use extra detail in columns where it is supplied. (e.g. sunflower seed for oil extraction and other uses. In other words, only use the code for sunflower seed for oil extraction to the U.S. [ ]. If shipping elsewhere, use the export code for sunflower seed [ ].) Chapter 2 indicates those codes for non-seed. Please do not use them unless you are making commodity. Please have your internal people or Customs House use these codes. Accurate use these codes is important. More copies this handbook are available from the Canadian Seed Trade Association fice (613) or on-line at ii
