1 Duel Fuel Cars in India!! The rising oil prices, growing awareness about fuel-efficient and environment friendly cars has turned the attention of car manufacturers to alternative fuels like LPG (liquid petroleum gas), electric cars and dual fuel cars. These cars are getting more popular as it saves money and reduces pollution. Car manufacturers have also introduced dual fuel cars, which gives the option of both petrol and LNG engines. Here's a list of the popular dual fuel cars in India... Maruti Suzuki is now developing a dual-fuel engine, which will run on petrol and CNG (compressed natural gas). This vehicle is estimated to cut down fuel costs substantially. Maruti Suzuki Omni Maruti Suzuki introduced a new Omni fitted with LPG kit in This was India's first clean fuel car to hit the roads. This Omni cargo is priced at Rs 203,565, while the Omni LPG - BS III is priced at Rs 238,784. Maruti WagonR Duo Maruti Suzuki launched two re-designed versions of the WagonR in The LPG-fitted WagonR, known as WagonR Duo, is one of the most popular LPG cars in India. The LPG-petrol Duo Wagon R is priced between Rs 340,000 and Rs 360,000.

2 Santro Eco Hyundai launched the LPG version of its flagship brand Santro in Called Santro eco, it comes with a factory fitted LPG kit. With separate Petrol (35 Litre) and LPG (27.2 litre) tanks, customers can choose from both LPG and petrol mode. Santro eco with lowest level of greenhouse gas emissions is an environment friendly car. It is priced at Rs 376,000. Maruti Suzuki 800 Duo Maruti Suzuki introduced the 800 Duo in The car can easily switch between petrol and LPG mode. The car is priced between Rs 2.05 lakh and Rs 226,000. The Maruti 800 Duo works on gas mixer system which results in optimum performance and superior emissions. The LPG variant emits 10 per cent lower carbon dioxide than the petrol variant. The car is priced between Rs 205,000 and Rs 226,000.

3 Indica V2 Xeta LPG This eco-friendly car from Tata Motors comes with a dual fuel engine. It can run both on petrol as well as LPG. The Indica V2 Xeta LPG is equipped with a dual fuel (petrol and LPG) engine, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 10 per cent, with good fuel efficiency both in the city and on highways. The new Xeta LPG comes with a 1.2 litre MPFI engine with two ECUs (Electronic Control Units) ). The engine meets BSIII emission norms, but can be upgraded to meet Euro IV norms. The Xeta LPG GLE variant is priced at Rs 327,000 BS Bureau in New Delhi Ford unveils the small car that it will make in India from next year; Renault announces fresh Indian plans, adding Nissan as a partner after having already selected Bajaj for a joint venture; Volkswagen in turn will introduce its small car next year. By all accounts, the car industry in India is about to acquire serious scale, as new car plants start dotting the maps of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttaranchal.

4 An astonishing 40 new car models have been introduced in the market over the past year, half a dozen by Maruti alone. Along the way, India has become the second-largest maker of small cars, overtaking Brazil (Japan is No. 1, of course). Overall, the country's car industry now ranks seventh in the world, with a 4 per cent share of the 50 million global car market. A decade from now, that share might well be 10 per cent. When global giants start investing in plants with scale, in preparation for entering the market to take on the existing domestic champions (Maruti, Hyundai, Tata), it should be obvious that the action is just beginning. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers says that a staggering Rs 78,650 crore (Rs billion) will be invested by car companies in the four-year period between 2007 and 2011, more than has been done in the first six decades after Independence. Today's three market leaders lead the pack with close to Rs 10,000 crore (Rs 100 billion) each, followed by Mahindra and a dozen or more others. Among them must now be counted Fiat-Tata, Volkswagen, Renault-Nissan, Honda and Toyota (which is expanding only in India). Component manufacturers, who have failed to keep pace with soaring demand (necessitating imports from Thailand, China and elsewhere), seem to be changing gear too. So the R word is long forgotten, thanks in large part to the series of 'stimulus' measures announced by the government from last December -- starting with interest rate deductions and going on to successive tax cuts, better depreciation rates for trucks and substantial car

5 Honda Jazz Other factors that have helped are the pay-out following the implementation of the Pay Commission report, and the fact that state- de- owned banks stepped up to the plate after private banks began emphasising car finance. Domestic car sales will grow 15 per cent this year, despite having started slowly. Exports will grow much faster, with April-August clocking 37 per cent growth over last year -- the cars goingg mostly to Europe, whose own car production has been falling. Domestically, the market is deepening leading towns and cities used to account for more than two-thirds of all car sales; that figure is now down to less than a half. The fresh lease of life being given to the highway programme and the new momentum in the smaller towns mean that the car market has a long way to go. In a parallel development, two-wheelers are doing well too, with production expected to zoom to perhaps 9 million this year, up about 20 per cent from 7.4 million last year. A million out of those willl be exported, mostly to Asia and South America.
