1 INTER-ACTIVE 3D ANTI-SNORING-PILLOW New Casada Medical GmbH GERMAN ENGINEERING
2 GOODNITE The Effect Go to bed as normal,- without any medication or devices to prevent from snoring. Goodnite only gets active when the integrated microphones detect snoring. It then inflates quietly the corresponding air-chamber underneath the head in order to turn the head to the side. This turn of the head increases the gap between the tongue and the throat that stops the sound generating vibrations of the soft tissue. If the first motion does not show reduction of snoring, Goodnite starts inflating a sequence of air-chambers in order to turn the head slowly and step-by-step into various position until snoring stops or is significantly reduced. The use of Goodnite can reduce snoring up to 95% and offers an easy and effective measure for a deep and restful sleep. Reduced snoring can decrease the occurrence of dyspnoea, oxygen deficiency, vegetative body reactions, cardiovascular diseases, strokes or diabetes mellitus type-2. A special PC-SOFTWARE allows user to easily measure and analyze the effect of Goodnite. 3 Studies Availability - Worldwide Peaceful Nights Clinical Studies Clinical tests in the sleeping laboratory of the Department of Neurology at the Lindenbrunn Hospital, Coppenbruegge, GERMANY under the supervision of Prof. Hofferberth have demonstrated total suspension of snoring as well as significant reduction of snoring with patients suffering from heavy snoring or mild to moderate apnea when using an anti-snoring pillow with active air-chambers. The patients have demonstrated higher blood-oxygen saturation (SpO2) and significant reduction of average heart-beat when compared with sleeping with normal pillows. All patients reported very positive subjective feeling after the test, such as well-rested and better mental fitness. Practical Field Test A test program with Goodnite has been performed early 2012 in several countries. A large number of candidates used Goodnite for 2 to 4 nights at home. The snoring duration and intensity was recorded every night for comparison after the test. During the test period, the pillow was randomly disabled for a few nights. The results demonstrated an average reduction of snoring of 70%. The maximum demonstrated reduction of snoring was even at 94%. After every night, a short questionnaire was filled out. All participants reported less morning tiredness and significantly improved recovery next morning. The use of the anti-snoring pillow Goodnite was described as simple and comfortable. Make You Own Test PC software to monitor snoring and pillow activity Smart Phone (ios and Android) application COMING SOON System Requirements WINDOWS XP or WINDOWS 7 INTEL CPU 2GB RAM 1GB HDD Goodnite available online, at Amazon and your local specialist dealer. 4 Healthy Sleep Snoring and Apnea Snoring and Consequences of Snoring wishes a good night While sleeping the muscles in the body relax. When sleeping on the back, the moving soft parts of the throat and the tongue constrict the upper airway and start vibrating with each breath - causing the snoring noise. The affected person often doesn t notice his snoring, but he suffers from side effects like mouth dryness, hoarseness and a sore throat. The partner though is highly disturbed by the snoring noise. Therefore it is recommendable to seek a convenient solution for both partners. Heavy Snoring and Snoring Apnea 5% Male 10% 60% 5% 30 year Male Female 30 year Male 60 year Male 30 year Female 60 year Female 60% of men and 40% of all women over 60 years snore. Among 30-year-old there are 10% of men and 5% of women. 5% 40% Sleep Hygiene Sleep Hygiene is the common term within sleep medicine to improve and define the Quality of Sleep. Sleep Hygiene includes the habitat and behavior before and during sleeping as well as the organization of its surroundings. Paying attention to the guidelines of Sleep Hygiene can help to reconsider and change one s habits and reduce disturbances of the healthy sleep. The recommendations in the guidelines should be followed consequently for at least one month in order to gain the desired effects. Sleep Hygiene demonstrates an easy but essential step on the way to healthy, relaxing sleep. Sleep Hygiene - Guidelines & Recommendations The sleeping room should be dark and quiet with a constant supply of fresh air The ideal room temperature is known to be ideal between 14 C and 18 C Sleeping on the side or with an elevated upper body reduces the tendency of snoring Avoidance of cigarettes and alcohol before sleeping Avoidance of stress Avoidance of fattening and protein rich meals for dinner Avoidance of tranquilizers and sleeping pills Reduce weight in case of overweight Going to bed around the same time to establish a routine and wake-up at the same time, also on weekends and holidays. The bed serves as a resting place. Therefore you should not read or eat in bed, nor work on any job related documents. Avoid short naps during the day. If you do, a nap should not be longer than an hour and if possible not after 3pm in the afternoon. Follow the recommendations of the Sleep Hygiene as much and as consequent as possible. In order to find the reason for snoring and to receive a proper advise where individual behavioral measures can be determined, an ENT or lung specialist should be seen. Especially with loud, irregular snoring a specialist should be consulted in order to rule out an obstructive sleep apnea (OSAS= obstructive sleep apnea syndrome sleep related respiratory failure) which is hazardous to your health. Sleep apnea may lead to undersupply of blood oxygen (SpO2) in the body and in consequence increased heartbeat. The patient receives a qualified diagnosis, consultation and therapeutic help only by a medical specialist. Here it is possible, either in the domestic surrounding with an ambulant polygraphy or with a medical examination at a sleep laboratory, to check body functions like breathing, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation and brain functions during the different sleep phases. Those can be quantitatively and qualitatively represented and evaluated. The treating medical specialist bases the individual treatment concept on those results. Healthy sleep distinguishes itself by continuing change of various sleep phases. Especially in the deep sleep phase vital processes for the mental and physical recuperation take place. Sleep is only healthy and restful, if the different sleep phases are not interrupted. When sleeping disorder or sleep apnea occurs those recuperation effects are disturbed and this can cause serious consequences on health and life quality. Throat Chin Blocked airway Nose Tongue Symptoms and consequences of Sleep Apnea High blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, Increased risk of heart attacks Increased risk of strokes Increased risk of metabolism disorder Restricted sexual activities Sleeping Stages Awake Dream phase (REM) Light sleep Deep Sleep Healthy Sleep Phases Disturbed Sleeping Phases (missing deep sleep phases) Symptoms and consequences of Sleep Disorder Tiredness during the day Lack of concentration Restricted performance Reduced stress resistance Irritability Depression, phobia, burnout
