12 Next steps Implementing the new frameworks «Use the new tools (RES Directive, 3rd IEM package, EERP, revised TEN-E) to make progress, in particular the National RE Action Plans Developing a blueprint for a North Sea/West offshore grid Revisiting the FP7 and CIP priorities Making progress on the ground to generate practical experience & develop best-practice solutions 12

13 Path to Maturity Predictable and regulatory framework Funding needs to concentrate on demonstration projects Strategic and coordinated approach to offshore renewable energy developments Synergies with offshore technologies and other users of the seas (e.g. storage, aquaculture ) Industrial strategy integrated into coastal communities economy And the regions?
