2 Every year, more than researchers from all over the world come to CERN to carry out their experiments, and more than 2000 people work on site to maintain the operating infrastructure. Hundreds of students and young researchers at the beginning of their careers arrive at CERN each year to participate in exciting big science projects and learn from the best experts in the field.

23 Conclusions CERN has a wide range of programmes in order to enhance collaborations between countries, universities and scientists, driven not by profit margins, but by a commitment to create and share knowledge CERN has long experience from different programs which can be applied in other research organizations FAS play an important role in order to maintain core competences within the organization

I will always keep this experience close to me. Maybe next time, I might get a chance to do some hands on work of my own! These two and a half weeks have only whetted my appetite for more knowledge.
