Provided by specialist professionals who offer practical advice on stress, anxiety and many more issues. Specialist professionals can provide emotional support to help with grief, feelings of loss or anxiety and related stress. The service can also be used by the employee s immediate family. Provided through telephone counselling teams supported by clinical supervisors. It is available 24/7 and includes a 30 minute counselling session if appropriate. Free information and links to legal guidance on many aspects such as debt management, lawsuits, consumer or property disputes. Please note, this service does not give legal advice. Recommendations, practical information and advice on medical or healthrelated issues from qualified professionals. A free service where line managers can discuss difficult or challenging situations and receive help on how to deal with them. We have various information sheets available online. Healthtalk.org is a charity that provides information and support for a range of health issues, to help people understand what it s really like to have a health condition. Yes Available to all line managers of our policyholders Critical incident support Management information This facility gives support if major incidents happen within the workplace, for example, a fire at work. Debriefing services for affected employees can be arranged on a group or one-to-one basis. Employers covering more than 500 employees through our group protection policy, have the option of management information for their EAP service. Optional 550 plus VAT for a half-day session Yes Support for employers Account management Employers covering more than 1,000 employees through our group protection policy, have access to a dedicated account manager to help promote EAP. 5 WORKPLACE BENEFITS: PROTECTION 5 EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME (EAP). HOW CAN EAP HELP? Our EAP is available for all employees either through an employer sponsored scheme or a voluntary policy. EAP is a positive, preventative programme of information, advice, training and services that help employees deal with events and issues in their everyday work and personal life. Key benefits include: An additional and valuable part of the employee benefit package at no extra cost. Designed to help towards reducing the number of absences, as employees have access to support and tools whilst they re at work. Supports the psychological and emotional health and wellbeing of your employees. Management reporting can help identify trends and provide objective, independent information.
6 WORKPLACE BENEFITS: PROTECTION 6 STRUCTURED COUNSELLING. WITH GROUP INCOME PROTECTION In some circumstances structured counselling, either faceto-face or by telephone, could offer a more effective way to support an employee. Where appropriate, Health Assured will provide up to five free structured counselling sessions to employees. KEY AREAS OF ASSISTANCE INCLUDE: Relationship issues Substance-related disorder Academic worries Occupational issues Religious or spiritual anxieties BEREAVEMENT COUNSELLING WITH GROUP LIFE ASSURANCE AND DEPENDANTS PENSIONS Health Assured can provide emotional support to deal with the grief and feelings of loss or anxiety that the immediate family members of the deceased employee that we re covering may be going through. It can also help by providing advice on any practical concerns. Examples where this service can provide help: LEGAL ISSUES Dealing with an estate, probate, wills and intestacy. FINANCIAL ISSUES Tracing a pension, tax, dealing with a deceased person s debts, funeral arrangements and bank accounts. PRACTICAL ISSUES Advice on social security benefits and caring for an elderly widowed relative. EMOTIONAL ISSUES Stress, coping with grief, returning to work after bereavement and planning for the future. This service is available to the immediate family members of the deceased employee, which can include up to five face-to-face counselling sessions. Immediate family members include spouse, partner, registered civil partner, parents, siblings, children and carers of the deceased employee. Phase-of-life events Anxiety or low mood Stress management Health Assured aim to provide appointments within 25 miles of your employee s home or place of work.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT FROM HEALTH ASSURED Health Assured can actively support employers by and telephone for the day-to-day running of the EAP service. Upon request: Employers covering more than 500 employees through our group protection policy have the option of management information for their EAP service. Employers covering 1,000 or more employees through our group protection policy have access to a dedicated account manager to help promote EAP.
