1 CIBSE EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR CIBSE YOUNG ENGINEERS AWARDS TODAY S TALENT BUILDING PERFORMANCE FOR THE FUTURE

2 THE CIBSE EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2015 AWARDED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG ENGINEERS THE JUDGES WILL WANT TO KNOW DO YOU have evidence of your commitment to developing junior staff? IS THERE a clear career path in your organisation for young engineers? If you put the development of young engineers at the heart of your business and you can demonstrate innovation and commitment in developing the skills and expertise of your more junior employees, then you could be eligible to enter the CIBSE Employer of the Year Award. If your organisation pro-actively champions young people in the building services sector, through your commitment to young people in the workplace or by supporting those employees through education, then tell us your story. WHY ENTER? This is your chance to share your dedication with the rest of the industry, to highlight the long-term benefits of being part of your organisation and to further cement your reputation as a champion of young engineers. Finalists are invited to attend the Young Engineers Awards 2015 ceremony Category winners will receive a certificate in recognition of their work The overall winner will have use of the exclusive CIBSE Employer of the Year logo Feature in a full write up in the CIBSE Journal and PR communications Receive 1000 worth of CIBSE training vouchers to use on a course of your choice And receive the prestigious Employer of the Year engraved trophy. All companies, whether large or small, are encouraged to enter, as four separate awards will be made: small company, medium company, large company and overall winner. All entrants will be invited to the Award presentation which is part of the CIBSE Young Engineer Awards on the 8 October 2015 at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London. SUBMITTING AN ENTRY To enter fill out the entry form, completing all the sections within the specified word count. Section 8 should be written and signed by a young engineer within your company. Please also make sure that a senior manager signs off the completed entry form. DEADLINE Entries must be received by Friday 31 July WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Your submission will be judged by a panel appointed by CIBSE and you will be notified by 12 September 2015 if you are a finalist. Companies will be classified for judging purposes as follows: Small company: 1-50 staff members Medium company: staff members Large company: 301+ staff members Within each category companies will be judged on their own merit. All finalists will be asked to attend the Young Engineers Awards ceremony at IMechE on Thursday 8 October 2015, where the winners will be announced and prizes presented. DO YOU reward your young engineers for academic achievement? AND reaching professional milestones? A WORD FROM THE CIBSE EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR 2013 We were delighted to receive the Employer of the Year award in Max Fordham LLP has always tended to recruit new graduates, so we very much see ourselves as a training organisation that invests in young engineers development. All of our people are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and development and we aim to provide the ideal environment for them to realise their full potential. Over the last two years we have taken on more new graduates than ever, and we have worked really hard to make sure that they have all the support they need to thrive with us. ARE YOUR young engineers involved with schools and colleges? DO THEY play a role in promoting the industry to future generations? DO YOU have an exchange programme for young engineers? HOW HAVE you maintained young engineer recruitment and training during the recession? DO YOU have a defined diversity policy? We are a partnership, and it is the collective drive and enthusiasm of all our people that has contributed to our success. It was therefore particularly pleasing that the judges recognised this fact in making the award. WE AIM TO PROVIDE THE IDEAL ENVIRONMENT FOR [OUR PEOPLE] TO REALISE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.
