2 Project Detail Carpet Replacement -- Sanctuary $25,120 to replace the carpeting in the sanctuary Remove current carpet, and replace with new The carpet it the original carpet installed when the Sanctuary opened. It is worn beyond repair and requires replacement if those projects are approved Carpet color: if approved, color will be determined by the Sanctuary Working group in consultation with design professionals Status quo leave the carpet as it is. It will continue to wear 2

3 Project Detail Paint Walls and Ceiling -- Sanctuary $37,897 to paint the ceiling and walls in the Sanctuary Patch, prime, and paint the ceiling and walls Improved appearance: the Sanctuary has never been painted: the paint is worn in areas if those projects are approved Color selection: if approved, color selection will be determined by the Working Group in consultation with the design professionals Status quo: continued degradation of appearance 3

4 Project Detail Pew Repair and Replacement -- Sanctuary $48,020 to repair and replace pews Repair all pews requiring it; replace those which cannot be repaired; replace some of the pews in the front section with re-configurable pews to allow for varying seating configurations; re-set all pews to create accessible spaces and improved sight lines Improved accessibility Improved functionality Improved safety Status quo: leave as is inaccessibility will remain an issue; appearance and structural integrity will continue to decline 4

5 Project Details Chancel Renovations and Accessibility -- Sanctuary $59,864 to re-configure the chancel Create an accessible intermediate level of the chancel; re-work the choir risers to create more space; refinish wood flooring and trim; upgrade modesty panels in front of choir Improved accessibility Improved hospitality and invitation to worship and gathering Improved safety Improved appearance of worn surfaces and finishes Status Quo: leave as is appearance will decline and the space will remain inaccessible 5

7 Project Detail Lighting Repairs, Replacement and Upgrades -- Sanctuary $175,000 Replace existing can lighting with energy efficient LED lighting; replace existing track lighting with energy efficient lighting; replace lighting controls Improved energy efficiency Lower energy costs after implementation Replaces outdated and failing infrastructure Status quo: continue with current lighting understanding that at some point, we will be forced to make upgrades because we can no longer obtain bulbs; if project is not performed at the same time as carpet, pews, paint, we would need to remove the pews a second time to eventually perform this work 7

8 Project Details Install new Baptismal Font -- Sanctuary $12,000 to install a new font Design, fabricate, and install a new baptismal font, creating a more visible font, consistent with Presbyterian tradition Reinforces the importance of baptism consistent with our tradition Improved appearance Status Quo: use the current font 8

9 Project Details New Chancel Furniture Table, Pulpit, Seating -- Sanctuary $38,500 for a new pulpit, table, and seating Design, fabricate, and install an accessible pulpit and communion table; install new seating for worship leaders Improved appearance Improved safety and healthier environment Status Quo: leave as is 9

10 Project Details Balcony Improvements -- Sanctuary $21,000 to paint and upgrade lighting Paint balcony to match the upgrades made to the sanctuary. Install lighting upgrades consistent with the main floor of the sanctuary. Install video screens to improve visibility of the worship services Improved sight lines for seeing the chancel during worship Improved functionality Status Quo: leave as is poor sight lines for viewing worship services 10

11 Project Details Fire Alarm System Panel -- Sanctuary $44,293 to replace the existing fire alarm system panel Replace existing fire alarm panel with new panel to support both the Sanctuary and CE Wing. Improved safety and code compliance Improved functionality Full project cost is approximately $89,000: the cost is split between the CE Wing and Sanctuary since the fire alarm system supports Status Quo: leave as is the current fire panel is the original: there are frequent false alarms due to aging equipment, and replacement parts are no longer available through the manufacturer 11
