3 COURSE DESCRIPTION Course Objectives: Learning outcomes On successful completion of this course, student should be able to: Course content understanding of the laws, principles and phenomena in the field of quality management, adoption of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of quality management. 1. define the basic concepts, terminology and overcome legislative framework in the subject area of quality, quality control and quality management system, 2. describe ways of applying quality management in the actual organization, 3. demonstrate the capability of making quality process for the selected process, 4. perceiving the organization to determine the existence or nonexistence of the implemented quality management system, 5. demonstrate the capability of making quality process, given the well-known process, identify the standard that could be applied, the roles and responsibilities of reference legislative framework 6. choose the optimal approach to the analysis of a given process by describing the activities Introduction. Definitions of quality, explaining basic concepts. Overview of historical development. Management theory. Statistical quality control. Integrated quality control. Contemporary developments in the field of quality management. The role of quality control in the modern enterprise. Responsibility as a result of poor quality. Quality and standardization. Fundamental concepts of the Croatian legislation. Norms and standards system. Objectives, concepts and principles Croatian standardization. Croatian Standards Institute ( HZN). Croatian standards ( HRN). The reasons for the introduction of standards for quality management systems. The development path of a series of ISO 9000 standards. Functional scheme of the company without / with the quality management system. Overview of the requirements of ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 9004th The establishment of a quality management system. Prerequisites that a company must fulfill. Structure of the documentation. Implementation of documented system. Judgment and witnessing system. Internal judgment. The national system of accreditation. External independent judgment. Horizontal and vertical judgment. Auditors task. Modes of judgment. Example of application in real companie.
