1 Description HDBaseT technology is a consumer electronic (CE) connectivity technology optimized for whole-home and commercial multimedia distribution. HDBaseT can connect all the entertainment devices in a setting through its 5Play feature set, converging uncompressed full HD digital video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power over cable and various control signals through a single 100m/328ft CAT5e/6 cable with RJ45 connectors. The HDBaseT Extender uses one CAT-6 cable to extend 1080p Full HD video and audio over 100meters away from its HDMI or DVI-D source. 4 HDCP compliant HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is one kind of copy protection by digital signal handshake. It is required for HDMI device. The Extender plays the role of a cable to communicate all of HDMI functions, such as all TMDS, DDC, CEC and HPD signal. Installation Step1. Put TX module near to HDMI signal source, such as DVD players or computers. Step2. Put RX module is near to HDMI sink, such as LCD TVs or Projectors. Step3. Connect HDMI cable from TX to input and from RX to output. Step4. Plug in the CAT-6 cable from TX to RX. Step5. Apply 5V adaptor to TX/RX modules. Note 1: The length of HDMI cable should be NOT longer than 2 meters. Note 2: These four indicator in front of the modules represent linking status. These 4 LEDs blaze green if all setup is complete and correct. The left one stands for the connection of power. The second light stands for the device operation. The third light stands for the connection of HDBaseT active. The right one stands for the HDMI Content of HDCP encryption. Page 4 of 5
